A friend and I ate at Shutters on Tuesday Feb 25th.

The food was very good and we enjoyed it very much. My friend is a diabetic and one of the chefs came out to speak to her about the menu.

We had the following

Appetizers
Pan Seared Scallops served with Chili Aioli

Island Chicken Wings served with Blue Cheese Dressing (the chef made these up for her without the sauce as it contained sugar)

Dinner -
Oven-Roasted Jerk Chicken with Garlic mashed potatoes and Long Beans were very tasty and present beautifully.

Sesame-crusted Seared Tuna with Yellow Rice and Sautéed Spinach

Desserts - special dessert for her, They have a sugar free cheesecake but she was told that it is bland so he whipped up some fresh whipped cream (sugar free) with an assortment of fruit.

French Toast Bread Pudding with Caramelized Roasted Bananas and Coconut Ice Cream

We had a wonderful meal at Shutters and it's a great addition to the Caribbean Beach, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

Everything was very tasty and present beautifully.

Thanks ga9497!

We're going there in June and I've made PS to eat there. Good to know it's delicious!

I really like the sound of this resaurant - and I'd like to check out CBR. On Deb's site, I have found a menu but no mention of a kids menu - do they have standard kid food? I have a picky DD.

Hi Sue,
yes they do have a kids menu with the standard meals and a few extra ones. I didn't pick up a kids menu but did look at it as I have kids too.

Great review! I'm always glad to see new restauants at WDW (especially when they get good reviews ;) ). Hopefully, I'll be trying it out myslef, very soon!

Sounds pretty good--.

Do they serve beer/wine? If so, anything beyond the "usual suspects'"

Yes they have beer, wine and some neat looking drinks with glowing ice cubes.

I did keep a copy of the menu, I will take a look at it and let you know. I don't have it with me right now.

My DD and I were craving cappucinos after Illuminations the other night and the Fountainview at Epcot was closed. When we got back to CBR we asked if we could take out dessert from Shutters and they were very accomodating even though they were closing up. We shared the bread pudding/coconut icecream/banana dessert(plenty for two) and the chocolate hazelnut cake. Both were incredible(I'm still dreaming about the bread pudding) and while I don't think we'll be staying at CBR again, we'll definately try to return for a meal at Shutters!

ga9497 thanks for the great review. This has always been one of my DD's favorite places to eat. She will be happy to hear of your good review. We haven't been there since they did the restaurant over. We'll have to go on our next visit.

Thanks again and glad you enjoyed!!!!

thanks for the great review! :)
I have to try it, it sounds delicious!

Laura :)

Thanks for the info. Red Stripe and Caribe are both pretty good beers. Nice to see they offer them.
And the wines sound fine too. Mrs. U just wanted to know if they went much beyond White Zin.

Dis you find Shutters crowded and difficult to get into during the week? Did you have a PS? Did you need one?

I went on a Tuesday night at 7pm the restaurant wasn't crowded at all but when I was there it was a very slow week. I was there 2/24-2/28. I did make a priority seating.

If you are going during a busy time, I would make a priority seating. If you don't mind waiting (if there is a wait) then it's up to you.
