On our last trip I used Kodak Photo Gallery to do all of our pictures. This time around I thought maybe I would try something different, unless of course you think Kodak Photo Gallery is equal or better to its competitors. So which photo shop do you prefer and why. Advantages and disadvantages. Thanks!

If you are talking about ordering prints- I usually use Ritzpix and pick them up at the store myself- I like the quality there best. I recently was given 120 free prints from Comcast for Snapfish. They are good. I've ordered prints twice from them now and still have some free prints left. :)

for fast turnaround of general photography stuff I use my local walmart,

for professional stuff I use MPIX and usually get my prints done on their metallic paper..

I used Kodak gallery for our summer photos and to have some photo calendars made as Christmas gifts. It was ok, and the prices were competitive, shipping was fast, but what I didn't like: uploading to the Kodak site took forever (we have DSL), and if you wanted to share your photos online with other people, they had to create a Kodak account to view them.

Recently, I tried Shutterfly and so far I'm very happy with it. Prices for prints are the same as Kodak and shipping was fast (ordered on a Mon. night and had photos in the mail on Thurs); uploading was MUCH easier and faster, and folks don't have to create an account if you want to share your photos online.

Something neat that Shutterfly has and Kodak doesn't: when I ordered my prints, you can tell Shutterfly what to print on the back of your photos. If you leave it blank, it'll just print whatever you've named your photo on your computer when it's uploaded (which is good in case you come across that photo later and want another print), or you can tell it to print "Walt Disney World Dec. 2007" or the names of people in the photo. Nice touch! Kodak just prints some type of order ID number on the back of the photo - not very helpful at all.

I think I'm going to use Shutterfly from now on.

I use Flickr to share & have used Snapfish to make people personal books.

i have used snapfish for yrs and they are fine imo for normal snapshots.
for larger sizes i got some 8x10s from walgreens( were just ok, it was a free monochromatic so i just ordered a free color to see how that was but you can pick them up at the store which might come in handy sometime), from shutterfly once ( also ok, one was great the other not so much but it might have been the photo although they said it was fine to print that size( 16x20)) and just got some from adorama on their metallic paper i really like...next time i'm trying mpix and am still looking for someone who is a panoramic printer since i want to get some odd sizes made up.

i got a nice book made at shutterfly and a ok one from tabloo, the shutterfly was more like a real story book, with backgrounds, hard cover with title etc. tabloo was just the photos, which i liked but one page fell out the first time i looked at it and a cloth cover...maybe you can get a printed cover from them, not sure. i'm trying mpix for that as well as soon as i get my photos from vacation done.
