I've read several posts saying that Shula's is the best place for steak. I know my DH would love a wonderful steak dinner while we're at WDW, but it would have to be *good*...he's a steak lover and can be pickey. I've looked and looked at this site and Deb's site, but don't see Shula's listed anywhere. Where, on property, is this place and is there a menu available online?

TIA for your help!;)

Shula's is at the Dolphin. There is a menu of it on Deb's site- go to Dining, then resort hotels, then the Dolphin. We went in March and it was very, very, very good. All of the food was exceptional. We spent about $130- we each had a cocktail, split a salad, my husband had a shrimp appetizer, we each had a steak, and we each had a side. The sides and the salads are HUGE so if you like the same thing, you could easily share it. The steaks were melt in your mouth fabulous. I had the filet mignon and DH had the Kansas City strip.

AHA...there it is! I must have scrolled right past it earlier. Thanks so much, Alice. My husband would be thrilled to have a great steak on vacation...;)

I'm looking forward to finally trying Shula's in October.

Shula's has the most tender steaks I've ever had, but for overall taste the strip steak at the Flying Fish Cafe is much better.

We just discovered Shula's in February and we loved it. The portions are huge, so make sure you are starving when you get there. We mistakenly had a burger at B&C around 3 and we really had a hard time finishing our dinner (8:30 P.S.)

We just ate at Shula's a couple of weeks ago. I don't think that we'll go back. The food was good, but why don't they have an actual menu? They handed us a football with a few menu items printed on it, but then the server came over and listed a bunch of other stuff. I couldn't remember much of it, so I ordered the 1 appetizer that I could remember and a salad :( Also, he had a pushcart with steaks on it and a live lobster in between the steaks. He left the pushcart next to the next table over from ours, and the lobster tried to commit suicide while we were eating. We heard a loud THUD, and realized that the poor lobster had pulled himself off the cart and tumbled to the floor. Seriously, I did NOT like watching a living thing struggle for survival while I ate. What a depressing dinner!

I hate when I can't make the first Shula's reply since I take credit as being their free marketing dept.

Shula's is by far the best on property. The portions are huge, the steak tender and the service is tremendous.

If you order smart, since the sides are HUGE, it is no more expensive then YSH.

If you are looking for comparison, Shula's imho, blows away Morton's.

I'm sorry, we just ate there & were not impressed. If you have ever eaten at a really good New York steak house then pass on this, its a mediocre imitation at best. While their portions are very large, the steak wasn't tender enough, asparagus so under cooked we had to send it back, & the salad had very little taste.

chrissyk I totally agree with you regarding the lobster. I felt so bad that it was on that cart looking so miserable.

The best part was my children got to go to Camp Dolphin for free for 2 hours while we were at Shula's.

Really I'm sure it was not pleasant at dinner, but I keep imagining the THUD, and I keep laughing. I'm sorry. For you and the lobster....

But as far as Shula's. You'll hear good and bad, I thought it was good. But, here is my important point>>>> good special night for DH. Very manly. If he is going to anything like a princess breakfast or an event with the word TEA in it, this would set him right. Dark wood, classic football, (albeit hard on Jets fans).

Enjoy!

I have to agree totally that this is a "manly meal" My DH has a great time doing kid's meals with me and DS, but I think he really felt like this was HIS special dinner.

We thought the ribeye and the filet were both excellent, but I agree that the asparagus left something to be desired. Also, the much touted souffle was not very flavorful. We had a phenomenal souffle on the cruise that blew away Shula's. Bottom line: steaks are good, other items seem to be hit or miss.
