Shula's?

This is the only steakhouse @ disney we have yet to try. Is it worth a trip to the Swan/Dolphin? The steaks look HUGE! Has anyone shared?

We are going there in the fall for the first time. Take a look at Tripadvisor for reviews and pictures. We figured it's worth a try.

Real good, huge slabs of beef. If that's your thing, that's the place. Otherwise, you'd be better almost anywhere else.

When you go, ask if they have a "petite" filet. It won't appear on the menu for some reason but every time we've dined there, they had one. IT's still fairly large compared to other restaurants' "petite" but fairly easy for one person to handle.

And to add that the beef there is much better than at any other WDW steak eatery.

The petite filet is 8oz and it's $43. My daughter ordered it earlier this month.

Its very easy to get to the Swolphin so, yes it is worth the trip.

Background.... Sandy & I go to WDW twice per year, a good 10 years running.

We go to Shula's EVERY trip. Personal opinion - it is the best steak on WDW property. Service is stunning, presentation stunning, food stunning. We have been to other Shula's locations in Chicago & Detroit (Detroit now abandoned). Our comparison basis for Shula quality includes Yatch Club, Le Cellier, CA Grill, and every other WDW Signature you can think of. I can NOT compare them to Bull & Bear (off property - but we intend to try it out).

Besides steak - Shula's has GREAT lobster offerings (important this year, as Fulton's is closed for renovation). Also the BEST Caesar Salad at WDW, and a STUNNING wine selection & dessert menu (DO get the Molten Lava cake ).

Shula's has an interesting philosophy.... everything is sized for LINEBACKERS (HUGE portions). But they also get normal humans.... and actually ENCOURGE folks to split sides & deserts .
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant - and have TWO reservations for our April 2016 trip.

Payment details: Shula's currently accepts TIW. They do NOT accept any form of DDP. Dinner is going to run around $250 for a party of two.... and it's worth every penny .

Thanks!!! I love a good Caesar salad so this is great to hear! We have tried most of the signature restaurants on property as well! We had a great experience at Yachtsman last trip, didn't care for Le Cellier, love Narccoossee's, love CA Grill, LOVED the filet at Jiko (my favorite thus far), and we haven't been to V&A since 2010, but are dying to go back (if I can convince my husband, the cost of it really puts him off). We tend to visit Morton's a lot (we live in NY) and I'm obsessed with their bearnaise sauce, and while I haven't tried the Bull & Bear in Orlando, I've been to the one in NY and it's amazing! We are excited to try Shula's but yes, the portions DO scare me LOL. I am glad sharing is encouraged and that it seems to get a lot of rave! We made reservations same day as HS so we can take the boat back and forth, making it a little easier!

Thanks!!! I love a good Caesar salad so this is great to hear!

I hate salad, no matter who was king.

However, my wife and many of my dining companions do eat salad and they rave about the Caesar salad at Bull & Bear.

I tried Shula's on my last trip, early March of this year. I had the prime rib and I was not impressed. I know prime rib can be fatty but this was greasy. The flavor was just meh. I tried the prime rib because it's served with Yorkshire pudding, I love Yorkshire pudding. This pudding was not great ( I make better).
The service on the other hand was exceptional. My server boxed my leftovers up and added a couple slices of provolone cheese so I could make a sandwich. The cold meat was even greaser tasting.

I have tried Bull and Bear, expensive but very good.

NOTE1: Shula's is at the Dolphin Resort, thus a little inconvenient unless coming from
DHS or Epcot. The eatery is not owned by Disney as Shula's is a chain. This eatery does
not disappoint for meats/veggies, but we find the lobster and salmon to be slightly below
par for the reputation and price of Shula's. Be aware that Shula's is pricey. But, the portions
are large; the wife and I always split entrees. We patronize only five eateries at WDW, and
three of the eateries are not owned by Disney. Shula's is one of our favs, along with Il Mulino
and Todd English's blue zoo.

NOTE2: Our opinions of non-steak options at Shula's:
. . . Mahi-Mahi - especially blackened, HIGHLY recommended
. . . Florida Red Snapper - huge, tasty, recommended
. . . Salmon - pass it by, go to Artist Point for Copper River Salmon (mid-May thru early-June)
. . . French Cut Chicken - give it back to the French
. . . Australian Lobster Tail - tasty, but not outstanding
. . . Maine Lobster - whole lobster is whole lobster, average

NOTE3: If you are older, like the wife and I, some waiters may think, "Older, smaller tip."
We had this experience this year, and the lack of service was highly noticeable. We didn't
get our favorite waiter, "Perry".

Actually Scupper we find the opposite (at least at restaurants we patronize)--older the patron the better tip servers might expect. Lots of young folks either haven't the tip $$ for a normal tip OR brought up w/o manners, could care less about stiffing a server and leave nothing or next to nothing.

My niece is a server at a local Outback--just last week had a table of 18 or so girls soccer team members--they spent over two hours eating and left her "zero" tip.

Anyway--my fav at Shulas is the smaller Porterhouse. And we always eat at the small bar when seats are available.

I've been to Shula's twice. Once in Tampa and the other time in Allentown. Made the mistake of getting the Prime Rib in Allentown, won't ever do it again. As for their other offerings, would go in a heartbeat.

If you really like Morton's? You'll really like Shula's . The Morton's in San Francisco was the first, and only restaurant that we attended (2015) that beat Shula's - by a whisker . Oh yes - Shula's DOES have a great Bearnaise .
