Hi Everyone! I have been to Le Cellier and Jiko and the food was great at both restaurants. I actually thought that the filet was better at Jiko than at Le Cellier. I am intriqued by Shula's Steakhouse and wanted to give it a try this trip. My boyfriend loves football and I think it would be neat to eat at an upscale eatery that is sports themed! I have two questions.

1.) How does the steak compare to Le Cellier and Jiko? Better, Worse, same? Also overall how is the food?

2.) Does Shula's take the DDE?

Shula's has the best steaks on property -- better than Jiko and far better than Le Cellier in our experience.

The ambience is pure football -- the menu is printed on a football! Great for a football fan. The place is not romatic by any means -- especially when loud conventioneers gather there.

But, the steaks are black angus prime and excellent.

Not sure if they take DDE. I don't think so.

Dh and I loved Shula's, tho it is a but pricey! The portions are huge, and a side can easily serve 2 people. Make sure to order the Molten Choc. Lava Cake...it is awesome!!:thumbsup2

The meat from Shula's isn't even close to the same ground as Le Cellier- it is so much better. While Jiko is a little more original in its dishes, the meat quality is superior at Shula's. I could be wrong but I don't believe they take DDE. Don't quote me on that as I am having a moment

My wife and I ate at Shula's in October and it was tied with California Grill for the best meals we had the entire trip. I had NY Strip, I believe she had the filet. The meat was excellent and perfectly prepared. The football menu is a little over the top (it's kind of hard to read the thing IMO) and the food is expensive, but it's totally worth it. We went early enough that the convention crowd from the Dolphin didn't get really rocking until we were finishing up, which was nice.

I've not been to Jiko, but Le Cellier is the most overrated restaurant in all of WDW, especially when you compare its meats to the meat at a real steakhouse like Shula's or Yachtsman.

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for all of your replies! Now I really want to try Shulas!!! I need to figure out how to rework my ressies!!! Also, do they take Disney dollars at shula's or visa disney card rewards?

Keep in mind Shula's is a chain so you could find one elsewhere if you can't juggle the ressies.

Ya I'm from Boston though, so I dont think there are any close to here

There is a Shula's Grill in Providence right near the "Dunk".

Shula's is fantastic, a real steakhouse. The sides are HUGE, DH and I always share. I doubt they take Disney Dollars but you can use your Disney Visa since that is taken every where.

My DH and I ate here on out Honeymoon. We enjoyed the meal but missed the "Disneyness" of it when compared to other restaurants. I would rather go to Yachtsman Steakhouse or off site to Charlie's Steakhouse.

Shula's does not take DDE. None of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants do.

It is not owned or run by Disney. I think it's most likely that they won't take Disney dollars. You can of course use the Disney visa to charge your meal, but I am not so sure about whether or not you can use rewards points there.

Where is Shula's in WDW?

But you can't truly expect to compare Le Cellier to Shula's or Yachtsman. It would be like comparing Microtel to The Hilton. They are not in the same league, and that is evident in the pricing. Le Cellier is a good steak for a decent price (although WDW prices are always inflated) with decent service. Yachtsman and Shula's have a higher level of expected quality and service to match the much higher menu prices. Le Cellier probably uses choice beef, and the other restaurants probably use prime beef from better breeds of cattle.

:thumbsup2

We dine at Shula's every trip (at least DH & DS10 do, sometimes DD & I go shopping instead). Our next ADR is for July 27th. :thumbsup2

DH & DS10 love it! It can't even compare to the other "steakhouses".

No, they don't take the DDE card.

The OP asked generally how the steak at Shula's compared to the steak at Le Cellier. I said that Shula's is hand's down a million times better. You're right about the differences being evident in the price, but the difference is still there. It's also entirely worth the extra money to eat at Shula's.
