We're eating at Shula's for our anniversary and would like to know if anyone has ordered a cake at Shula's? (a custom cake...not a slice of cake :rotfl2:)

I've ordered my share of custom cakes from WDW restaurants, but never here. Just wondering if it's worth it or just get the cake at Boardwalk Bakery to have in our room.

Thanks!

I am sure you cannot order one through Disney, as the Swan/Dolphin are not Disney resorts.

Call the Dolphin, and ask.

We ordered our DS a cake to be delivered to Kimonos. I know it's a different resort, but it seems S/D run very similarly. At Swan, we had to speak to room service to order the cake. Their basic cakes are very limited. We ordered strawberry shortcake. It was very good, but didn't look like a birthday cake at all. Our DS thanked me for ordering him a cake other than a typical chocolate or vanilla birthday cake, so it was a good choice. ;) Those options were also available, & could have been ordered for the same price. The basic cake options are reasonable. Unfortunately, the prices go up substantially for custom cakes. They're much more expensive than WDW custom cakes. That said, our cake at Kimonos was much better than the cake we had delivered to Biergarten a couple years ago for a very similar price. They weren't even in the same league as far as taste goes. I'm sure the custom cakes would be delicious also. I included a little more info on the cake thread at the time, if you want to check it out. Congrats on your anniversary. :)

Thanks! I'll give them a call to check out pricing. We're staying at the Boardwalk, so, I'm seriously thinking of ordering a cake from there just to have in our room and enjoy on the balcony.

Thanks again!

In addition to (or instead of) room service, you should also contact their catering department directly to see in what direction they can point you. The pastry staff at the S/D is second to none.

That's who we called & they connected us to room service. On a follow-up call, I asked to be directed straight to RS. It wouldn't hurt to start with catering. It's possible that Dolphin has a different process for ordering cakes. I agree about the pastry staff. We were very pleased with the taste of our cake.

It's quite possible that for such a small order, they run you through Room Service. Still, if planning ahead before arriving, try your hardest to work through the catering staff. Can't hurt to try.

Yes, you can order a cake to celebrate. Try calling 407-934-1362

But do you really need an entire cake after consuming a steak?

The Chocolate Souffle is an outrageous dessert and is always on the menu.

That is VERY true! Thank you for bringing me back to reality!

Don't they have key lime pie? If so, that's what DH and I will have there if we make it to dessert.
