Shula's Birthday Coupon and TIW

Can these two things be combined? Trying to decide whether or not to buy the TIW.

I MIGHT be able to answer this one.... . Every year, Sandy and I get those coupons. We ALWAYS buy TIW - and never use the coupons. Here's why....

The COUPON is good for YOUR ENTREE... but even with just a party of TWO , our total bill under TIW is LOWER than it would have been with that coupon. Pretty sure you can't combine discounts . Buying TIW? I can't recommend it enough . IF you tend to frequent better restaurants, TIW pays you back FAST. As soon as you spend $500, you've broken even.

Thanks for the link, but we will not be eating at Shula's until next June. My DH and I are going to WDW this Christmas and are contemplating getting the TIW. Many of the restaurants we will be eating at also give us a DVC discount. The big savings will come from eating at Shula's next year. If we knew we could get a 20% off coupon like this one for next year, we probably wouldn't buy the TIW this year.

I figured we wouldn't be able to use both, and I also realized the 20% for a party of 5 would be a much more substantial savings. Just thought I would ask about using both. Sure would be nice!

If they are going to offer a coupon for next June, would it be available before the middle of December? That's when I'll be purchasing the TIW. I figure that will be too early to know, so purchasing the TIW will be a guessing game.

But, if you are planning multiple TS dinners, TiW will be better as the discount is also applied to alcohol. That was the rationale of our The Wave bartender. He was advising my CM friend that TiW is a better deal in the long run as compared to the CM dining discount - mainly because of the alcohol discount.

We'll have to consider that for September - we have plans for Cali Grill as well as other Monorail Resort TS restaurants.

Next year, there will be 5 of us and we will do mostly CS restaurants except for Via Napoli and Shula's and maybe one or two more TS restaurants. If I don't have a coupon for Shula's, I will save with the TIW. If I do have a coupon, I won't even break even on the other restaurants.

I also don't drink which means my CM friend would have to have roughly 50 drinks before breaking even on the cost of the card versus the CM discount.

With 3 people dining at Shula's, we saved $50 off the total which essentially went to the tip as we had excellent service. With 5 people, your savings will be substantial either with a coupon or with TiW. When you already have the DVC discount, it's hard to determine if you would break even on the cost of TiW. Some food courts and CS are included in the TiW discount.

Just an FYI, If you purchase the TiW, and don't use it till your first day, you'll roughly be able to have it for 13 months, so it'll most likely be good till Jan. 2017..

1) Don't know what 20% Birthday Coupon you reference.
2) Out Birthday Coupon is for one free entrée at equal or less price of a purchased entree.
3) In other words, a FREE MEAL, excluding sides.
4) Happens every year, and it sure beats 20%.
