Well, temptation was just too great. Instead of enjoying a leisurely meal at Shula's (my first visit there), I just had to eat the 48 ouncer and join the club. Since I like my steak well done, they let me have two 24 ouncers for shorter cooking times. Although I knew this task would not be a problem for me, I had my shrimp cocktail after my steak(s) just in case. I also enjoyed three beers, and a hunk of chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream.

My name will be on their website soon, and engraved on the plaque by our next visit.

Has anyone else joined this prestigious club??? ;)

PS- brief reviews of all restaurants will be coming when I get a chance

I just had a mental picture of John Candy eating that steak - meat, fat, gristle and all - in that old movie that he was in with Dan Akroyd. If he finished it in less than an hour, he got it for free. (Can't remember the name of the movie - two families staying in a cabin together in the woods. Dan Akroyd had twins and John Candy had two kids.)

Did you have to eat the WHOLE shebang? Or just the good parts?

Maistre Gracey,

I hope you enjoyed. Well, if you ate it all you must have!!!

I hope it lived up to my billing.

I really think they should comp my next meal for all the positive press I give them. :smooth:

DH joined "the club" in September 2000. He was so proud of himself too!!!! :p

Yes indeed, I was impressed with all aspects of the restaurant. My only regret was that I did not eat in a normal fashion, because of the club thing. Next visit I will have appetizer, then meal ect...

Thanx for the tip!

Don't know how you did it--
The "standard" porterhouse was just about all I could handle.

But congratulations seem to be in order--so,--well done!!:)
