So I live in South Florida and we have many steakhouses. Thinking of going to Shula’s on our next trip. Is it anything special or just a good steakhouse? Have done Steakhouse 71, Yachtsman, Le Cellier, Boathouse is it any better than these?

Marginally better. Still better is Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria in Bonnet Creek.

Best steakhouse we’ve been to albeit expensive, Been to Yachtsman 3 times and quality has definitely deteriorated over time, Steakhouse71 was decent but smaller cuts only (burger was superb though), I dont get the hype with Le Cellier, been twice and average at best both times, had a good ribeye at the Boathouse…overall Shulas is the best on property we’ve tried so far but also the most expensive (not been to Bull &Bear yet 👍🏻)

We have done Shula's in the past and thought it was very good, although pricey as mentioned above. This last trip in March we went to Steakhouse 71 and Yachtsmen Steakhouse. We loved everything about Steakhouse 71 except the steak. I have had better steaks at Ponderosa. Yachtsmen had been declining in previous years, but this year, we found it to be excellent, one of the best meals of our trip. It has been years since I have been to the Boathouse, so I can't comment on that. Same with LeCellier, we always enjoyed it, but have not been in several years.

An imaginary conversation I could have had….

Me: “Shula? No, but thank you for asking”
The man: “Yes, please and babe, can you wear a football jersey to add more ambience to the menu written on pigskin?”

Not my cup of tea but I did go once to the one in Miami. The food was fine for what it was but I found the restaurant decor kind of dated.

The only thing I enjoyed at Shula's was the lobster tail. All 4 of us found the steaks (Filet and Ribeye) disappointing. We prefer Saltgrass to Shula's. I might suggest you try Steakhouse 71 or Le Cellier. :)
