Shrinking Tink: Trading Pounds for Pixie Dust

I'm reminded of an 80s song. :lmao:

Catch me I'm fallin, doodoodoo doodoo doo doo doo.

Have we stopped counting the weird things in common? ;)

We probably should. I'm running out of fingers and toes to count on.

Healthy for 30!
Healthy for 30!
Healthy for 30!

Healhty for 30 can certainly be difficult when you have family visiting from Australia and your mother very graciously suggests that you all go out to eat at Vinny T's, where the manicotti was calling my very name.

"Niiiikiiiiii. We're cheeeeesyyyyy. Eaaaat usssss!"

Positively disturbing.

And delicious.

::ahem::

:cool1: Woo Hoo! :cool1:

Congrats on the 1 lb lost!

With 3 different birthday parties I didn't even bother hoping on the scale this week. The good thing though is that the cake is all gone now, so no more excuses!

My mother gave us a bucket, yes, a BUCKET, of different kinds of candy for the trick or treaters on Friday night. It's sitting on my kitchen counter. And I'm happy to say, I haven't touched it!

Since I brought it home on Saturday and had 4 peices of candy.

AHEM.

Well if your able to get the candy out without touching the bucket, your technically not touching it. ;)

I'm having a hard time getting back on the bandwagon after my trip. I gained an ASTRONOMICAL amount of weight in Disney, but I have lost almost half of it since being back. Even still, I just can't seem to do as well as I was before I left.

OOOHHHHHH is THAT how it works? ;)

I found that accepting it for what it is was the first thing I needed to do. Before that, I'd try to lose and it would just backfire. Then I set a goal that was below what I knew I could actually do. That way every little loss feels HUGE!!!

That and I still have THOSE days. I try not to berate myself for them and start over. With one exception - I don't say, "Oh I screwed up at breakfast, I'll restart tomorrow." I say, "Oh I screwed up at breakfast, I'll restart at lunch." If I gave myself a whole "free" day just because of an early screw-up I'd be messing up breakfast all the time!!! LOL :rotfl:

Disney really has that effect. I didn't really gain anything while I was there, but managed to get completely out of my good habits thats I had been working on before I left. I can't eat the "Disney Way" when I'm not walking several miles around a theme park at the same time, and unfortunately I don't get to tramp around a theme park daily. :)

Of course. Halloween candy had certain rules you know.

:lmao: Had to laugh. I sooo do the same thing. I mess up bad enough, I've been known to give myself a week. You know, I messed up so bad, I'll start again after my next weigh in.

Tink, congrats on the loss!

I think this is the only thread where we're happy about loss. :lmao:

It's been a while since any of us have posted, but I have an announcement.

I have officially lost 100 lbs since I started my lifestyle change on May 2nd! I am now down to 215 lbs, only 9 lbs more than I was when I got pregnant with DS and 15 lbs from my first HUGE goal! :woohoo:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

That is just amazing! I'm very, very happy for you! :goodvibes

Thanks! And to celebrate I upgraded us to AKL for our May trip.:lovestruc
By then I might be at my final goal, but if not I should at least be close to it.

Good for you! Awesome upgrade, you'll just love it!

I've been plugging along, having gained back some weight when we got back from our September trip. Most of it is off now, and I'm working out twice a week. I need to bump myself back up to three times, but it is getting SO hard to motivate myself to go out in the cold to go to the gym! It's freezing in New England! YUCK! So I'm going to try to get more into our WII Fit, and DDR and things like that. I figure if I go to the gym twice, and do that once, there's my three times a week.

But, I'm proud of myself. Because usually, I don't exercise at all during the winter, and I gain what I used to call my "winter fat." I don't want to to do that this year! :thumbsup2

I definitely know what you mean about slacking in the winter. I'm too cold to do anything! Usually when I get home from work I just want to put on sweats and crawl under blankets. I HAVE to motivate myself to do anything. This is one of the coldest winters we've had in NY in a long time. I give you a lot of credit for keeping it up. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much. I feel the exact same way. When I get home, I want to put on my pajamas and hibernate!

I'm so glad to hear that people are seeming success around here. I've been hiding out because I've been doing pretty badly lately. I don't know what it's been, but this fall I've been losing will power and resorted to lots of bad habits. I just saw some pictures of myself from my niece's birthday party, and was a bit horrified at how much I had put back on.

I've made myself a little mini goal to really watch myself this holiday. I'd like to lose about 10 lbs before Christmas day. (A little Christmas present to myself).:santa:

Getting exercise is the toughest part. It's been so cold lately, that all I want to do when I get home is curl up under a blanket with the laptop or the tv. I'm thinking of heading to the mall afterwork. I figure it will be a good place to get some walking in without freezing, at least for a couple of days a week.

Don't beat yourself up, hon. This is the hardest time of year for me to lose weight, too, always. I have that same want to curl up mentality, because it's so cold outside it's hard to get motivated.

I think the mall is a great idea!

Thanks. I'm thinking if I go right when I get off the train, it will keep me from getting too lazy. Once I walk in the house, and it's already dark outside I'm just useless. Plus if I walk at the mall, I can save some $$ by not turning the heat on. :thumbsup2

I'm just feeling so yucky in my own skin with the extra weight back on. I'm definitely a stress/emotional eater. I use food to comfort myself. I thought I had gotten over that, but I've gone right back to doing the same thing. I guess I need to deal with it as a minor addiction that never really goes away, just gets beat back into submission periodically.
