After a brief (albeit HOT) hiatus/vacation, your girl Tink is back. And unfortunately no thinner but that's ok. I'm working on it.
Hey Tinkerbellarella and everyone else,
I have followed you over here from your pre-tr (still a lurker because I am catching up but I will say Hi soon). I have struggled with my weight my whole life, i am in college and i can't remember the last time I weighed under 200 pounds. I started Weight Watchers in January (anybody smell a new years resolution?) and although i've lost about 17 pounds it is not nearly what I was hoping for after 6 months so I am hoping that joining this thread will hold me more accountable for what I do and I can actually get some of this weight off. Every one on here seems really nice so I think this will be really great.
Hi Sara! Welcome! I do WW as well (but online). It can be tough and the results are slow sometimes, and while everyone is different it's been the best way to lose weight for me.
Exercise is very important - especially weight training. I used to just do cardio and then my BF explained something very important to me: you'll burn more if you have more muscle on your body so it's crucial to do weight training AND cardio. And he was right (jerk - I hate it when they're right). I shed founds faster when my cardio was paired with weight training.
Keep your chin up and be positive!
I just happened to come upon this encouraging thread... the exact day I signed up at weight watchers.
Welcome Jennifer and congrats on WW AND your newest little one! We're all about encouragement. Well that and low-cal/point snacks.
Hi all!

I followed Tinkerbellarella over here from a very funny post she made on a trip report I'm reading.
...
So I'm really looking forward to motiviation and support from this thread and learning tips on healthy snacks and eating.
I admit it. Sometimes, just sometimes, I can be funny. Other times...notsomuch.
Welcome!
I carry the point calculator around with me most times.

I guess that will get better.
LOL Believe me. Soon you'll be whizzing around the grocery store and barely glancing at items proclaiming, "Two points per serving, six points per serving, 4 points per serving!"
I lost 2 pounds!
...
My DS16 lost 5 pounds
Yay! Congratulations!
We celebrated with a trip to Applebees for the WW menu!
How did you like it? I'm not a fan. But, then again, I'm not really an Applebee's fan in general.
I was proud of myself yesterday. I did the elliptical trainer for 10 minutes. I know that doesn't sound like an accomplishment, but it is for me. When I just started working out again, I could barely do three. I just go slow, take my time, and finish up with a nice walk on the treadmill and my weights.
Why is there no clapping Skittle?
Can I join in with all of you?
Hey there!

Of COURSE you can!
I saw the picture from DIsneyworld (visit my PTR and you can see the picture) and realized, "Man, I look bad."
UGH. I HATE that.
Adding to that that I had GERD, I really needed to change things.
A friend has this. It's tough, I know. There are many things she misses that she simply can't eat any more. Believe it or not, it makes weight loss a little tougher.
My biggest mistake was to return to drinking soft drinks and visiting McDonalds.
Aaaah. Yes. McDonald's can be the devil. With no trans fats.
As for me, I lost another 2 lbs this week, so I'm slowly but surely shedding the pounds.
Does that guy remind anyone else of Spot from the old 7-UP commercials?
I'm taking it easy and trying to stay cool since it's in the 90's and humid.
I was outside yesterday. Swimming through the air to my car. The temperature read 103.
My cats are staging a full-scale revolt today if I don't come home and shave them down to the skin. I always wanted a hairless cat.
Tonight I am making philly steak sandwhiches. I went to the deli and got roast beef, lowfat. 2 points for 2 ounces. and sauteing it with onions, mushrooms, peppers, with just the fat in the meat in nonstick pan. Then putting a 1 point slice of provolone on it and putting it on a wheat hotdog bun for 1 point. 4 point hoagie!
This sounds AWESOME!
Maybe at the one month birthday of this thread we can put our accumulated weight loss and add it to our name? That might be fun!
I actually intended to update everyone on the thread's progress last Friday, but didn't make it to the 'puter to do so. So I was going to do it this Friday.
I'm sort of stagnating...still.
You are NOT stagnating. Or stagnant. Or any other word that means the same thing. Stagnant implies stinky. You have......plateued. It makes you sound so much more...well...like Arizona. But I mean that in a good way.
I actually had a bit of a revelation this morning at the gym. They have mirrors all along one wall, and I actually don't have a full length mirror at home. I took a look at myself. And realized something.
I look pretty good.
Is my body exactly what I want it to be? Nah.
But is it nice to look at?
I have big thighs and hips, not only attributed to what I eat, but genetics, and having had my son. So we work with what we have.
I am trying very hard to get to the point where the number on the scale doesn't matter, and I'm happy with myself.
I think I took a good step.
I think you took a HUMONGOUSLY WONDERFULLY GREAT (and eleventy other words that mean the same thing) step.

For you.
Still sucked like a vacum hose pressed hard against the carpet.
I think I need to work this into conversation today.
Oh, and it has Mickey one it!
Mouse ears are slimming.
:What I have found that helps a lot is adding a pool workout in 2 times a week.
I LOVE swimming. My parents are readying their inground pool and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Only less boat.
