Just thought I would let you know, since I don't see it posted anywhere, that the DVD video is the same as the one at the park. Of course, it's not quite the same at home, since it isn't 4D, but it is good. I wasn't going to tell the boys it was the same since they have yet to see it, but they asked and I said yes. I was sort of bummed that you can't buy just that DVD...it is packaged with Shrek One. Now I'll have 2 of the original. Oh well. Enjoy the show!

Thanks for the info! Ever since they announced this bonus DVD I've been wondering if it was going to be the same video as Shrek 4-D. Thanks again!

Im very disappointed that it only comes with the Original Shrek. If it wasnt for that, I would be watching it already.

Okay, I think I'm an idiot, because we bought it today. It says to watch it before you see Shrek 2.....so in other words, Shrek 3-D the DVD is the exact same thing as Shrek 4-D at universal?!?!?

Yes, it is. If I had not seen it before, it would have been neat. The boys have watched it like 5 times....since it is all of 16 mins long. When Colton said on the drive home, "Mom, this 3D movie is only 16 mins long." I just groaned. I don't think I would have bought it had I known that! or paid attention to the box. We just ran in and got it. It's much better at USO/IOA. I think I have a friend that wants to buy on of my Shrek originals...so I won't be out too much money. Wonder how many of these will show up on Ebay?!

I was actually a little bit mad............. If I had known I would NOT have bought it either. It is cute, and my little one will watch it, but I too now have another shrek!! If it even had a little more on it, or something, for 16 min. and a movie I already have, $20.00 is a little much !!!! I guess I was just disappointed.......... since it does indeed say to see it before you see shrek 2, so I'm thinking - cool, another movie................. nope!! Maybe, I wouldn't be so............... arrrrggggg, if I had not seen it at the park.........

OH Well, anyone want to buy a shrek dvd???? ;)

Okay, let me ask the question this way (and please be patient with us, this is our first trip to Universal and we're HYPED!).... should we watch the DVD, or wait until we see it at Universal? Apparently the one at Universal is miles better than the DVD (naturally), so would it spoil the fun to see it now?
And let me add my name to the list.........if I had known it was 16 minutes long, I would have passed too.

Sometimes, its nice to be an informed consumer. Anyway, its really about 12-13 minutes ;)

I bought it, even though I had Shrek already. I think its such an oddity that a theme park attraction has been released for home video consumption, so I had to buy it.

Make your own mind whether you want to watch it at home or at USF first. Two completely differen't experiences due to the in-theater effects. If you have it already, you may as well watch it, so you know a bit of what to expect.

MikenBec...that is hard question! I would say....if you are going to be there in the next month or so...WAIT!!! If you are not going to be going for a few months...the suspense would KILL ME and I would be watching!! I just kept thinking that it just wasn't the same watching it at home and that the boys were missing so much of it. Good Luck with your choice!

I hate surprises....LOL...

I would watch it. The experience will be completely different either way.

Thanks so much everyone...........and I've had it a DAY, and the suspense is ALREADY killin' me.......I think we'll watch it tommorrow night and then not watch it again until we're in Universal for Shrek 4-D........
Thanks again!!

Yeah, it is......but everyone can't be as perfect and all-knowing as you, buddy. We're trying!

Well, we watched it, and it was good. I'm sure the experience at the park will be night-and-day, so we're looking forward to it. The 3-D was about a "6" on a scale of 1-10, by the way....the Spy Kids 3D DVD had much better 3D effects, for some reason.
Two weeks to go!
