Going in August. We have been to WDW and, while discussing the trip with my kids, my DS (9) has asked if there is a show similar in feel to the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom. Music and acrobats etc. I think is what he is looking for. I've searched through the offerings at Disneyland and haven't found anything to plan to hit. Am I missing something that might be similar to put into our itinerary? We want to stay in the two parks and not venture anywhere else. Thanks!

Sadly you just missed the Alladin show, which just ended its run at the Hyperion Theater in DCA. It was a full scale Broadway musical caliber show and was really the only thing in the parks that would probably compare to the Lion King Show in Animal Kingdom. They are replacing it with a Frozen musical later this year, but now sure how into that your boy might be.

Mickey and the Magical Map in DL is about a 20-25 minute show that is a lot of fun and has lots of good music and character appearances (Mickey, Stitch, etc.) so I’d suggest checking that out as a good alternative.

And while not shows, both the Soundsational Parade in DL and the Pixar Play Parade in DCA are very high energy and feature good music and a lot of the performers in the parade do jumps and acrobatics and things that he might like!
