Our children and grand kids will join us in Nov. starting touring Sun 11/5. I'm assuming the kids will want to see one or more shows, we haven't done any in years. Which shows would require a FP+ if they're not willing to queue up 20 mins or mare in advance?

Thanks,

Bill From PA

If 20 minutes +/- is the max wait time, then I'd recommend one for F!. Beyond that, don't know that you'd need one for any of the others. Perhaps RoL if it's the first of two shows that night, but even then you may not need it. Wouldn't need it for Beauty and the Beast, Pixar Live, Indiana Jones, Illuminations, etc...

Maybe Festival of the Lion King.
DH and I are going the next week and I won't be getting any FPs for shows although we will go to a few. I just don't think very many need them.

No shows you NEED a FP for. If you don't want to wait 20 or more minutes, then just show up less then 20 min before the show

Just a word of caution. We had a FP for fantasmic and got there right as the show started and they were full! Would not let us in, even with a FP. So FP does not guarantee you a seat at F! - only gives you a better seat once you get inside. So if that one is important, get there early.

I think this is the only show that this may be an issue for. All other shows we were able to see without 20 minute of less waits (but only for 2nd seating of what was then the Jungle Book show at AK).

FP, and dining package as well, DO NOT guarantee seating right before the show starts. Those with FP and dining package still need to show up 15+ min before the show.

For Fantasmic no matter if you're standby, FP, or dining package, I always recommend showing up around 45 min early. On busy nights it's not uncommon to see the dining section nearly full 30 min prior

And seating will be available, no sell-outs?

Very little that FP benefits in terms of shows. I'm saying if you don't want to wait 20 or more minutes, then just show up less than that and roll the dice. Depends on what shows you want to see and if you consider fireworks and projections "shows".

Majority of shows you'll have no issue showing up 10 min prior. Off the top of my head shows you might have an issue with would be Fantasmic, Rivers of Light, Voyage of the little mermaid (it's a very small theater) and possibly a good view for Star Wars a Galactic Spectacular.

On our last trip (October '14) we tried to get into Fantasmic! on a weeknight, and it was booked solid about 30 min. before the show. The next night at DHS, we bit the bullet and went in 60 min. prior.
