What is the benefit? A ride has a get on quicker line, what is it for the shows?

Thanks.

The FP's for Shows like WOC and Fantasmic! is to regulate the number of people in certain viewing sections.
Due to limited space and show popularity this is Disney's solution.
The benefit is you have a sliver of space to see the show.

The fastpass for a show - such as World of Color or Fantasmic - allows you access to specific viewing areas - they are not always anything fancy and it still pays to show up as early as you can if you want to get prime viewing space from within that section - but if you are going to view the show then pulling a Fastpass for this is easier than just winging it at the last minute and trying to find a spot to view from. There are not to be confused with the viewing areas reserved for VIPs or dining packages - those are much better but come at a price!

Question about FP for WOC and Fantasmic..... Can you pull them first thing in the morning? I thought I had read you can get another FP right after since they aren't connected? Or is that not true anymore?

Fantasmic! and WOC FP's have no affect on ride FP's.

Yes, these two FP's are not connected to other FP's.

Yes and correct they are not connected to each other or to ride FPs. WOC last later in to the day. F! usually run out with the first hour of park hours for the first show and by 2-2:30 hours after park opening for the second show.

Perfect, thanks! So we get into the park and purchase MaxPass, then make our first ride selection and can select WOC or Fantasmic! at the same time?

The shows are paper only and are not part of maxpass so you will need to go to the machine. WOC’s machines are in little mermaids stroller parking and F! is to the left of the Mark Twain boat dock.

Thanks! Have been to WDW a lot, first trip to DL next week, so trying to make sure I have everything straight!

Laughing, pretty sure we had less than a sliver last time I was there!
Thank you!

We have done WOC FP's multiple times over the years. Sometimes I'd wished I'd had a stroller to help with space crowding.

In October, not wanting to deal with the chaos of FP general viewing, I reserved WOC Dessert Party for the first time.
I had a whole chair to myself. No jockeying for space. My view of the show wasn't blocked by people in front of me.
While expensive, this is the only way to see the show.

When going to get F! fast passes first thing in the morning, can we request the second showing?
Nope

As a side note: I noticed that on the daily entertainment schedule, Disney has started referencing these as “tickets” for the shows rather than “fastpasses.” Makes sense in terms of the whole “doesn’t affect your ride FP” thing” and also the fact that they can’t be booked from your phone on MP...

No.

If it’s for world of color just go after lunch time if you want the second showing and see if they are distributing for it yet. If they aren’t asked the cast member what time they think it will switch over. For F! go check about a hour after the park opens.
