DH is a fanatic about water pressure in the shower. Most campgounds do not live up to expectations.
How is the pressure at FW comfort stations? Also how's the hot water? Is there ussually enough or do you run out half way through?
Thanks!

I have never run into a problem with either pressure or hot water. I would say he should be happy.

I am a shower nut. Have never had any problem with the pressure or the temp. of the water. On those cold evenings at The Fort when I elect to shower at the comfort station I always come back looking like a freshly boiled lobster. Have only made it to full hot for a short time because it is real hot water.

Do the showers require tokens or quarters?
How much do the washers and dryers take?

No tokens or quarters needed! All you need is your pass through the musket guarded FW gates! (Is the musket toting Mouse still there?)

Unfortunately, these do require quarters. I don't remember the exact amount, but somewhere between $2.00 and $3.00 did one load for me. That assumes you bring your own laundry soap and fluff stuff. If not, they have that for sale in the vending machine.

Water pressure is great! And they don't seem to ever run out of hot water. And most importanlty, they're CLEAN!! :Pinkbounc

DH is quite relieved to hear this. Never ending hot showers at a campground will be a novelty for us.

The showers at FW are great. Plenty of hot water and lots of space.

However, the laundry facilities leave alot to be desired. It takes $2 to wash for 30 minutes and the dryers take $1 for 15 minutes. The dryers are not very hot so it takes aleast $3-4 for the dryers and I only put acouple of items in it. So make sure you take lots of quarters.:wave2: :wave2:

Yikes, guess we'll try to get the kids to recycle those sweatshirts and towels a bit more! Does anyone go offsite to do laundry? Is there a place close by?

I 2nd everyone else. The showers were fine. The dryers were not! I spent a fortune. 4x didn't dry jeans. UGH.

Just a note for those who run out - dryer sheets were cheaper in the machines than in the stores.

There is a Laundromat a little further down 192 past the Super Walmart on the same side of the road that was great. We did a little over 1 weeks worth of clothes and tons of towels in an hour for about $6. They have the huge washers and a wall full of dryers and its air-conditioned and staffed.

Thanks for the info! We've got the camper packed and ready to head out one week from today! Just praying we don't get any weather on the way down!
