Shower for VR Bride?

My niece was married last year at the courthouse by the Justice of the Peace without even a celebration dinner. They are having a "real" wedding this year. Would it be okay to have a shower for her?

Thanks ladies! She is not one for a lot of attention but I asked her yesterday and she said that would be fine with her. They are young (21) and are just starting out...
