Hello. Does Disney still have shower chairs available? My mom doesn’t need a handicap room, just cant stand for long periods of time.
A transfer bench wouldn’t work with the shower our room will have, just a regular chair.
Any info is appreciated

There’s a shower bench available in the shower area but no idea if they have a waterproof plastic frame chair that’s open in the center if that’s what you mean.

Just realized you’re talking about an “able” room; check with Housekeeping.

Housekeeping does have a few shower chairs available on request, but it may or may not be a style you prefer. Alternatively you can rent one from OrlandoMedicalRenals.com. Or pack a portable one to bring from home. If you do borrow from WDW I suggest checking the bolts are tightened; some reports indicate the seats were wobbly/loose.

I asked this same question 1 1/2 years ago, and someone said that "all" the resorts have them, but I only know that Kidani had one for me at that time. However, it didn't have a back, which my shower chair at home does. That wasn't a big deal to me, but it may be to someone. And of course, I don't know how many shower chairs Kidani has. Maybe they only have that one-if so, and someone asked for one the next day after me, there wouldn't be one available, so they could be left thinking "Kidani doesn't have shower chairs" so no guarantees.

I have never not gotten a shower chair when I have asked. Once, they got one from another resort because they needed to do that.

There are shower chairs and benches.
In many cases, WDW will see what a guest needs / request if need be , go to a local store.
The item is then store in housekeeping for next guest that req that item.

This! I once had one and took a shower and it slowly fell apart with me sitting in it! After I screamed for help my mom saw that my legs were bent in ways that NEITHER OF US knew that they could bend!

Disney did offer us to switch to Grand Floridian, which did have a room with a roll-in shower available (I was in a scooter at the time), but mom didn’t want the hassle of switching hotels. Grrr…
