Showdown time! O'Hanas V. Cali grill

Who wins? And why? I am planning a SPECIAL dinner for my folks and I want the time to be super fun and fabulous. The problem is, they don't really love fancy food. And the restaurant and its ambience is just as important as the food. So, which do I choose?

Hi Carrie,

I have only been to Ohana and I must say I LOVE it there! Food is yummy and not too fancy. The dessert is TDF!

I would do Cali Grill for fancy food and a quiet type dinner. If you are looking for fun the Ohana might be your best bet IMHO.

No Question ~ California Grill. Great view, excellent service, wonderful food.

'Ohana at dinner (Stitch makes up for the food at breakfast) ~ Kids activities (do your guests really want to enter the hula hoop contest?), overdone meat, icky food, etc. It is a great place to keep little kids entertained ~ otherwise, avoid this restaurant like the plague!!!

Does it have to be a MK resort? Why not take them over to the Boardwalk to FF and then to a fun evening at Jellyrolls?

Hey there!

I personally like the California Grille much better. O'hana is great for family fun but not for the food. I didn't care much for it. Too sweet and meat too dry. But one thing was for sure...there was a LOT of it!

Easy choice--California Grill.

These restaurants have two totally different atmospheres! 'Ohana has singing, food is served family style, and there are kids' activities ( coconut races around the tables ). California Grill can be noisy, but the atmosphere is more adult. We really enjoy eating at both, but if I had to choose between the two I would pick the California Grill. The view at sunset is amazing!:
