Show your card?

Just read on another forum that people try to book With AAA code without beeing a member.They just give a fake number. Do you have to show your card by checking in?

Hopefully they must show it.

Yes you do have to show your card when checking in. also your AAA agent verifies the number you give them. At least they are suppose to and mine did.

No way would I want to risk that. If they don't have a card, are requested to show it, and cannot, they could end up paying rack rate for their stay.

I booked my room only reservation myself through Disney & was told I have to show my card at check in. They didn't ask for a AAA number when I made the reservation, though.

Last week I modified an existing reservation. No AAA rates available when I booked, but I kept checking about once a week, and on this particular call the AAA rate WAS available! The CM adjusted my rate, but I had to give her my AAA # and its expiration date.

The CM who took my reservation for 2008 didn't ask for a number, nor did he mention to bring the card, but it is printed on the receipt that the card should be present at check-in.

I booked yesterday for April 08, room only @ AAA rate and the CM asked for my # and exp date. She also said that failure to show the card at check in would result in a loss of the discount.

OT a bit but does anyone know if you can book/check AAA rates online. I may want to extend the stay but it takes so long when I call to have them check the 3-4 resorts I am interested in. I would rather just do it myself if I can.

I did find the ones I was interested in on the AAA website - go to travel, then hotels, I think. In fact, when I initially called Disney CRO, the CM said the AAA rates weren't out, though I had heard of bookings here and had already seen the dates in question on the AAA site. The CM did eventually find them (and he was extremely nice about it, BTW).

I had to give my AAA number and expiration when I made the ressie and when I checked in they asked to see it. I've had it for more than 5 years and when my son started driving his own car, I got him a membership too as a Christmas present. I renew them both every year.

I always price everything out on the AAA website for any hotel and then call & make the reservation with that $$ in hand. So far no trouble booking WDW room for exact AAA price that was quoted on their website.

I booked 2 last time, one for me & my son and the other for my brother and his 2 kids. It was in his name too. As long as I was with him at check in it wouldn't be a problem.
