We put our tree and decs up today - a little earlier than normal but I am away again next week and won't be back until the 23rd so we brought it forward so I can feel 'Xmassy' for a few extra days

I don't know about you guys but we have a particular way of putting our tree together - or should I say DW has. I stand back and watch it happen - occassionaly handing her the ornaments she wants.

Once it is up and the lights are on the ornaments go on in a certain order.

First on are our '12 days of Christmas' baubles - starting with the 1st day at the top, working down to the 12th day at the bottom. Oh and DW insists that each one is lower down on the tree than the previous one.

Next up are some small crackers that we bought some 21 years ago when we had our very first tree - and they have stayed with us ever since.

After that we put the kids ornaments on. We have a tradition where every year since their first Christmas we buy them a tree decoration and write their name and the year on the back of it. Brads first was 1995 and he now has 15. Taylors was in 1998 and she has 12. We intend to keep this going until they leave home - at which point they will take them with them for their own tree

Once they are on it's anything else to fill the tree up and make it look festive.

As well as the tree we also decorate the fire place, and stick a couple of seasonal stuffed toys and other nik-naks that we have collected through the years around the room.

And this is the finished result.

Putting up our Disney tree this afternoon whilst sipping DH's 2009 Christmas cocktail - this year his offering is a Festive Fizztini!!!

We've got small crackers that have been going on our tree for as long as I can remember (30 years +) as well.

I've really enjoyed looking at all the pics of everyone elses trees and decs since getting home a few days ago. It's good to see how everyone incorporates Disney into their Christmas - and quite right too.

I am so behind on the Dis it's untrue. I need to dedicate a day just to catch up on the trip reports - but is that possible with Christmas just around the corner. One can only try

Here is my tree with silver and black decs and some new Scottish Santas. There is a black shiny star thingy at the top of the tree. I have stuck in a piccie of a couple of my other decs, the Santa is fibre optic. I think the tree looks better in the dark but I am not very good at night photos well not good at any photos really.

This is my first attempt adding a photo here so sorry for anything I have done wrong.

Sorry it's taken me ages to put these up, my photobucket was playing up!

We decorate our house about a week back when November 25th hit and my housemate and I spent 6 hours making and sticking up a paper chain that spanned the 3 floors of our student house..

I also got creative with some beading we had spare

Right here we go....i've taken loads of pics but will post them gradually over the next few days as i've still not finished putting everything up.

And this is my black & silver tree which I decorated this morning, it is in my black & silver dining room.

Unfortunately the black baubles don't show up in the photos so it looks a little bare in the pics.
