I know I know it's not even Labor Day yet, but with all the talk on the other boards about Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, I had to go look for my photos!

I could kick myself as I can't find one of my best from 2003 - the year Haunted Mansion the movie was released, they had a HUGE Madame Leota crystal ball at the turnstyle area. I loved that, and hope each year to see it back - sadly it has not.

Look how cute she was when she was 6! Time really flies!

This is last year - hmmm - don't know what happend to 2004 MNSSHP??? We were there, but where are my pics?

That's a great photo. I love to do selective coloring! Thanks for adding to my LONELY thread!!!!

Fall is the ONLY season I miss living in FLORIDA. I love when it gets crisp and cool, and all the smells that you think of associated with it! Fall Festivals here just aren't the same as up north. I don't miss it enough to endure WINTER though!!!!

Sorry your thread is lonely. Much as I resent your bringing up Halloween already, I'll contribute.

My DS then 9 last year....

This was during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2002. The park was incredible.

Might go to another one this year, still trying to decide.

I LOVE Halloween, and I'd love to see the Madame Leota pics if you can find them!

Here are my dd's, a/k/a Violet and Baby Jack Jack last year. I tried and tried to convince the little one to be Edna. Now that would have been a hoot! And I have a neighbor who says Elastigirl reminds her of me, so we could have been the whole family. :rotfl:

And here are a couple from MNSSHP last year.

Dumb luck. Seriously.

I looked at the exif data, and I had it in manual mode, f/4.6, shutter speed 1/25 sec. I didn't have a tripod with me, so I was kneeling and had the camera on a fence to steady it. I think a longer shutter speed is recommended for better effects, but so is a tripod.

There used to be a sticky thread at the top of this page with tips for taking fireworks pictures. Evidently it was removed when the poster who created it was asked by the powers that be to leave the forum. I was planning to print it before our November trip, but now I've gotta go out and find some other sucker to teach me how to teach me how to do this.

These are the notes I have from the old sticky thread. Sorry they aren't more complete.

Always use a tripod
Turn on the IS on my lens
Use the remote shutter release (pressing *before* the burst)
ISO 100 (I ended up with 200?)
2-5 second shutter
f/??? (I think I was supposed to set it between f/8-f/10, but my exif shows f/11-f/14)

Hope that helps a little! :)

Thanks Terry! I got the wireless remote for my camera a few weeks ago. Very cool! Hope your pics turned out well!

I've found f/10 to be very good. But f/8 will also do the trick. Shutter time's will vary from 2-8 seconds. At Disney I found that most of mine were about 4 seconds. As for the IS, I believe you want it turned off if using a tripod. Something in the technology that with IS on and mounted to a tripod it will create vibration and cause bluryness.

We should have one of the admin's create a new fireworks sticky.

Oh and before I forget,,, I have to get down to Disney for MNSSHP one of these years. I actually thought about going next near instead of after Thanksgiving like in '05, but I really love x-mas time around Disney. One of these years we'll have to make a long weekend in Sept or Oct.

Yes..if using a tripod turn the IS off. Using a tripod defeats the purpose of having the IS and it messes w/ the camera.
