MJ gave me a great idea for a thread....I would love to see pics here of you/your family in your formalwear on Formal Night! I have some dresses picked out online, but a couple of people told me they are too sexy for a family/Disney cruise. So I'd like to see what y'all are wearing! Please? :earboy2:

But I'll describe to you what I wore on my 7 night Eastern Magic. I would wear what makes you feel good. Some of my dinner clothes are what I consider "sexy" (in a tasteful way). I seldomly get to really dress up, so I did. I felt great and I fit right in. princess:

Most Fancy:

Long black form fitted strapless w/ side slit to knee
Long dark purple form fitted strapless laced up the back w/slit in back
Short "little black coctail dress" spaghetti strap w/ empire waist

In between:

Long slim skirt with Blouse
Beaded bottom wrap skirt with 3/4 cuffed sleeved wrap around blouse
Long slim drawstring skirt w/ sheer black longsleeve shirt & cami underneath

Casual:

Tea length Audrey Hepburn style spaghetti strap form fitted sundress w/ empire waist and tied closed at the back

MJ - What a gorgeous family you have!!! I love the one with you and Mickey and Minnie! Great looking family photo - Thanks for sharing!

I don't think you have to worry. These other ladies gowns and dresses are right on par with what I wore and what a lot of other ladies wore. There were lots of sexy dresses. Some were modest, some were church appropriate and a couple were even hoochie mama. If you want to dress to "feel like a woman" then I say go for it!

Thanks, you guys! So, you wanna see the ones I'm looking at and help me decide? :D

This is an interesting post!! Thanks for sharing all the pictures.
I have been thinking about what clothes to take on our 3 night cruise in December.

Is there one specific night on the 3 night cruise that is more formal than the others??

On the three-night, there's no official formal or semi-formal night. When you dine at Triton's, you get more dressed up; Animator's and Parrot Cay are both the infamous "resort casual." As far as what people wear to Triton's, I felt that I fit in well in a nice dress, not too fancy but not too plain. A few women were wearing evening gowns. Everyone looked lovely, especially the little girls in princess dresses!

This wasnt DCL, but formal night on NCL last summer. I will probably wear the same thing this year on DCL though.

Thanks for the info!! I didn't remember reading about a "formal night" on the 3 night cruise, but wanted to make sure.

Here's one of my DW and I on deck 4 before dinner.. Can't wait to wear the tux again with a multicolorMickey vest. :rotfl2:

I admit it. I am taking this opportunity to show off my handsome son on our cruise in 12/03. Oh yeah, I wore something sparkly.

Oh, what an adorable little guy! I don't blame you one bit for wanting to show him off! :groom:

We sailed the week before Halloween and my DS5 decided that he wanted to wear his costume for formal night (since the girls wear their princess outfits - why not a fancy pirate?) My mother made his costume.

Several of the ladies from our DISmeet thread decided to wear long black gloves and tiaras for formal night! It was lots of fun and I didn't really feel out of place. Anyone can be a princess on a disney cruise! :flower: princess:

My DH already owned a tux (we sing in a choir that required them, so he wears it at least twice per year for concerts)
