ok I need inspiration, people!!

We are making our family/rec room into a Disney room I want to find a Disney Wallpaper border and paint the walls ( this HAS to be done anyway) then frame all of the Lithographs weve been collecting.

So show me what youve done or please throw in your suggestions! Thanks :)

great thread binny! my 11yo DD wants to do a Disney theme in her bedroom. Other than bright colors on the walls and furniture we haven't come up with ideas other than some posters she already has.

We just finished decorating my son's bedroom with a Mickey theme. I don't have any pictures to post...but I can try to describe it.

We painted the walls blue. His room has 9' ceilings. We painted a 2" red horizontal stripe at the top of the wall by the ceiling. About 18" down we painted another 2" wide red stripe. In between I stenceiled Mickey Mouse (using Disney stenciles bought at a home imprvement store), Each Mickey is about 12" high. I painted two Mickeys on each wall. The stencil kit I bought came with a stencil of the words "MICKEY MOUSE" and three stamps (Mickey's hand, profile of Mickey's head and a star). In each corner (centered between the two red stripes), I stenciled the name "Mickey Mouse" with the star stamp before and after the name. In the center of each wall between the stripes I used the Mickey head and hand stamps.

We purchased a new Mickey comforter and pillow sham for DS's bed at JCPenny on clearance. It is put together like a quilt. We bought a red tailored bedskirt and valance in red (from JCP catalog).

For wall art we bought two Mickey posters from Art.com and bought black frames from Target. I bought three 8x12 black frames at JCP (50% off) that I used to frame three of the free Disney lithographs we had from pre-purchasing Disney movies at the Disney store.

Alex's room looks fantastic! He loves it! All told we spent under $300 and we are very happy with the result. I have always wanted to to a "Disney" theamed room and I jumped at the chance when Alex picked out the Mickey comforter (our starting point for the room).

I would highly recommend the Mickey stencil kit. I had never used a stencil before, and I found it quite easy to use (the kit was about $8).

Happy decorating!

My DH has satilite images of WDW and he printed them out and thought it would be cool to put the images up on the wall (like kind of a wallpaper thing) and put a park on each wall. It sounded cool but we never got around to doing it.

I wish I had pictures but we haven't even begun yet. We have decided to make our family room into a Disney room. Instead of the traditional couch and chairs we are going to "furnish" with the giant stuffed disney characters...its sounds great in theory now lets see what the end result turns into!

My DD's room is partially Disney themed. So far, she has all white walls and I have painted several pictures of Tinkerbell on them. I have also painted Mike, Boo & Sulley from Monsters Inc. I started painting the Evil Queen from Snow White on one of the walls. There are a few other characters she wants but I haven't gotten around to those yet.

I'm going to take some new pictures soon, I've finished some projects but here's one I already have loaded.

The wall is lithographs, Minnie is in the window by the fireplace - Mickey sits in a window on the other side. The picture above the mantel is an enlargement of one from our DL trip when the girls were 6&3. I've decided to have family photographs made on our next trip to WDW so I can use those to complete the mantel.

The entire room is Disney except for a few things my DH has and my Star Wars things.

I decorated our DD room when she was around 4, I loved the room, so did she back then. Now, she's 12 going on 40, and the baby stage as she called it, is over. This past September for her 12th birthday I redid her room, per her request. It nearly broke my heart to do this.
I don't have any still photos of her before Disney room, I have that on video.
Oh darn, some people just have to grow up, I'm just glad I'm noy one of them. LOL!!!
