We've started saving all our change (and errant singles) for our next trip (which is too far away to mention and I'll get the dry heaves if I actually put in to writing how long it will be :crazy2: ).

Show me your change jar or jars!

Ours are : Dollars for Disney World (where the singles go), Money for the Mouse(quarters) Dimes for Dumbo, Nickels for Nemo, and Pennies for Princesses.

How cute! Mine is just a green popcorn bucket we got from WDW back in 2014 (I think!) with a slit cut in the top. Nothing great, but it's motivational. Not really worthy of a picture. ;)

Looking forward to seeing more pics! I know there are some crafty people here. :D

Love the individual bottles!

Mine is just a cut glass candy jar that I've re-purposed.

Cute idea! Mine is a tall stein mug from DH's college baseball career. It only holds $100-125 depending on how many quarters end up in there. I kind of like it that way b/c I see progress a lot faster than if the container were larger.

Cute.. and I like your counters.. I have the same ;).

We use a big goldfish bowl that one of the kids taped a "Disney Money!!!" sign to 6 or 7 years ago. We haven't had a fish in a decade, so no fish were evicted for our change jar lol:rotfl:.

Our "change jar" is actually just 2 boxes that our Magic Bands came in. We use one box for pennies and one box for silver coins. When our girls were little, they loved decorating their own Disney change jars. Now that they are teenagers, the decorations on the Magic Bands' boxes are the only decorations on our change jar boxes that we get. LOL! :D

Very creative and probably helps teach the kids too. And I do like the "adult" bottles in the background as well...

How do you cash in your change? We have a lot of change that I want to cash in for our spring break trip but want to find the best & easiest way to do it. My bank does not have a coin machine.

We just did a big coin fundraiser at my son's school and our PTA bank has a coin machine. When I was using it, I noticed that for a nominal charge, you could use the machine without needing to have an account. So you could check around at banks in your area to see if they do this also.

Back in the 80s grooms used to give their best man a beer glass engraved with their name and the date. My husband has had one of those sitting in his closet for a long time and that is where our change goes. It's always designated for vacations but not just Disney. We cash it out every summer and it nets about $75.

On the other hand, I wanted to teach the kids that every penny has value so if they see any money on the street or elsewhere it's worth picking up. I have a separate little "found" money dish that I'm collecting that in and when it hits one year, I'll count it and show them. That will probably be worth one Mickey bar. :earboy2:

ours is a water cooler jug. about 7 years ago we were planning a wdw trip a few years down the line so one of the Christmas gifts under the tree was the jug w/about $50 in starter money (we purposely did some change, mostly $1 bills w/a couple of $5 bills so it had a little weight and some visual appeal). told the kids that anything that went into it went towards our trip happening sooner vs. later.

it was pretty impressive how they would kick in-spare change they had on hand, if the easter bunny left some plastic eggs w/coinage they would toss in some, some times a few bucks from birthday cards....it encouraged dh and I to get in the habit of only paying with paper money and collecting the change we would accumulate to toss in each night. I even took our cashed out yearly Costco amex reward check and threw the whole amount in. it was amazing to see how much it added up to.

our credit union has a max container size that they will allow an adult to bring in before they hit you with a charge (still MUCH less of a charge than those awful coinstar machines) but they will allow kids to bring in any size. the look on the tellers face when my kids walked in w/that jug on a suitcase roller was priceless:rotfl2:

Mine isn't nearly as cute as yours..... I just use WDW popcorn buckets. I used to cash it in when one got full, but I'm trying to build up my change for a short visit to DL this fall..... I have one bucket full with the lid on and another half full! I'm not big on using cash, but I end up with a fistful of change about once a week from my WW job and it always go straight into the bucket!.............P

Only if you are better at finding change than I am! I am always on the lookout for "found" money..... so much so that I decided on my 50th' birthday to start keeping track of it (I will be 52 in a few months). I have a separate jar that I have put EVERY SINGLE PENNY of found money in. I would take a guess that if I am lucky I have about $2 in there now.... mostly pennies, a few nickles and just one or two quarters..... and I look every where I go! .......................P

We purchased a Fab 5 Taxi bank last year at the splash mountain gift shop - its nice becuase we CANT see what or how much is in it

Three kids and a deployed husband, those adult bottles aren't NEARLY full enough anymore LOL!

See, my bank has the machine and they just deposit it into whatever account I choose. Will they take the coins if you roll them? Out PTA bank takes them if they are rolled. They have the coin rolls at the dollar store.

I agree though my mother is the queen of found change! I will say the other day I found 250.00 on the ground when I was at an outdoor shopping area in Atlanta. Of course, that got turned straight in to security, but it's the most I have ever found!

My "change jar" is a Once Upon a Time popcorn button I got from going to the premiere at the El Capitan a year and a half ago. It's just cardboard, but it does the job. No idea how much is in there.

Our change jar is a giant plastic coke bottle bank we got from Club Cool.

This is mine. We put all are change in it plus any money that we deem "Disney" money. Such as we sold something. We currently have about $45 in here. I will change it out when it gets to $95 and put it on a Disney Gift Card.

Please pardon the mess. We are in the mist of packing to move.
