Show me the 2020 Castaway Cay 5K medal

Can anyone from a recent cruise show me the current CC 5K medal? I’ve gotten some of the previous medals for doing the complimentary CC 5Ks & liked them. However, in 2019, I noticed that the year had been taken off the medal & that it was generic. I’m not sure I want to to the 5K again if I’m just going to get another non-dated, generic medal. Having the different years on the medals was half the fun of collecting them. I’m cruising in a group of 20 people also, so I’m not sure if some of them would want a repeat medal. Any help on this is appreciated! Next cruise is in April, so I’m planning my activities now

There is the "free" medal and then there is the medal for the "paid" event which is offered after Marathon weekend in January for sure (I did the inaugural) and perhaps others but I can't confirm that.

I did the 5K in November (Fantasy) and twice last month (b2b Magic cruises). The medals were all the same generic with the same blue ribbon. No dates. Same thing in January of 2018. Last dated version I have is the same medal with red ribbon from 2017.



However, my adult DD reported seeing a photo of a new medal on the generic blue ribbon, posted by someone who had completed the CC 5K challenge (the paid event which has its own clearly designated medal) and the open fun run on the recent Dream cruise that followed Marathon weekend.

Interesting. That’s the new medal my DD reported. They were handing out the old medal in my post above for both 5Ks I did in January, so they must be working off two different inventories of medals.

When we were on the Fantasy in August, I got the same medal you show in your picture. They probably have a bunch of the older ones onboard the ships, but somebody must have grabbed a box of "new" medals on my December cruise.

Anymore updates that the medal has changed? Or are people still periodically getting the old one?

We have a late arrival time to CC and I have two of the old ones, so trying to figure out if I want to spend my limited time on CC doing it again, but if there’s a new medal involved......I always love new medals!!

Here is the medal I got when I was on the Magic in December.

This is the one we got last week as well. For us it was a new one so we were happy! Also loved the new number tags you wear as they are no longer white. Nice change for us!

I received the same one as in the picture above one week ago today. It's different than the ones that I received a year ago.
