Show lengths at SW?

I'm having some issues doing a search so I'll just ask myself!

Dbf's company is having a picnic at SeaWorld this Saturday (June 10), I havn't been to SW Orlando in years! I think my brother was only 4 when we went and he's 19 now XD. So its been a while. I have been to SW San Diego a lot more since that trip to orlando. But anyway..

It seems like you could fill the whole day with shows! And I don't want to miss any of them. So I was wondering if there was a good site with info for SW, IMO the official site kinda sucks. Does anyone here has info on how long the shows are? Are some longer than others? Are any of them worth skipping? FYI: We will mostly be Engineers/engineers wives(significant other)/engineers chidren if that helps any. I'm not sure that we will interact many of the people with children, but it is possible.

I got the show times for this weekend from the official site, and I'm trying to plan around the shows and the time period we can eat at the picnic. I was hoping to not have to get there when the park opens but it looks like we may not have a choice if we want to do everything that day.

A few other ?'s:
Is the priority parking worth an extra $5? Especially if we plan on getting there 30-15 mins early?

I've been spoiled with wdwinfo.com and allearsnet.com, I have my own personal book of disney menus in the works . Is there any place that I can see menus or possibly just a list of foods and snacks in the park? We will be fed lunch, but if we get there at 9 we will need a breakfast snack and if we are staying till 9pm then we will need dinner as well.

Thats all I can think of right now, but I'm sure more will come to me.

Something tells me I'll be the only person we know that has any clue about whats going on or what to do that day Wait till I tell the Dbf that once again I have learned my tricks of the trade from the DIS!

Since you want the rare option of an engineer's opinion, and I are one Gator Skool type, I will answer the easy questions.

1. You will interact with other children. The Stroller Mafia Army will run over your feet with their children's strollers, wear sturdy shoes with toes.

2. Menus. Why do you want to copy the stuff they sell? Get a supersize Big mac with fries and shake, it is much healthier than the normal fare at SW. Fat, salt, sodium, grease in extra large sizes. Mama's Kitchen I think is the only place with real food, of course it has the most limited hours. Most SW fans are Plus Size and do not lose any weight that day in spite of walking 10 miles. I often see a guest ladies behind in front of me on the side walk and want to tell a cast member "A whale escaped".

3. Shows: See Pets Ahoy. Only engineers (aka Dilbert and Garfield fans) can properly love a show where they TRAIN CATS.

4. Fun: first thing, go feed the sting rays and dolphins. See other threads for details. Why? You cannot do this at home. Or at Disney. That's why.

5. Parking. For the engineer types: there are about 10 rows of parking from the tree line to the front gate. Preferred ripoff parking is the first half of rows about 7 to 12 in front of the main gate. IF you arrive 30 minutes early you will park in about row 5. If you arrive at 10 AM you will park in row 314156, which is closer to Epcot than to Sea World, with a walk or commute time appropriate--by the time you get to the gate you will be exhausted and ready to go home.

6. All U Need to Know: The letter I. On your map the Hospitality House. Where they have the Ultimate Engineers Dream: FREE BEER.

7. Fusion. A water ski show. Engineers will love the horsepower of the speed boats, and go crazy trying to figure the velocity of the high diver hitting the water after a 60 foot plunge. Engineers with some hope of humanity left will sit front row center and try to figure how the bikinis stay on the hardbody go-go dancers moving at high velocity . Teen sons of engineers will get the anatomy lesson mom and dad never provided. SW is such an educational place.

8. Shows: see Shamu, I hear he is some sort of headliner there. See the Sea Lion show, hokey, but get there early. The mime will talk as much as DH.

9. No Fair: Engineers are some of the few guests who can understand the concept of a "Splash Zone". Regular people say "A 12,000 pound whale dropping out of the sky cannot possibly push water this many rows high." The engineer says "Wet? Here? No problem. I'm sitting higher."

Others, please answer the hard questions. Above all, enjoy youself.

I love engineers. they got the Sunshine Skyway right after the second attempt, and it only took 35 deaths after the first collapse. then the new Clearwater span dropped, and the Tampa Crosstown sank.

I appreciate your input! I will keep all your words of wisdom in a special corner of my mind or maybe on a sheet of paper to hand out to all engineers on the trip hah!

The real engineering of my day will be planning every possible thing to do into one 12 hour period of time... including calculating how early to get to shows, so that i'll be there before all the other nerds who are destined to be there that day for the picnic

We went to SW a couple of times during the past week (we are AP holders) and I have a copy of the show schedule in front of me with the times of the shows:

Believe (New Shamu Show) - 30 minutes
Blue Horizons (Dolphin and whale show) - 30 minutes
Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island (Sea Lion/Otter show) - 30 minutes but the 15 minute pre-show with the mime is definitely not to be missed. He's awesome.
Pets Ahoy - 25 minutes
Odyssea - 30 minutes
Fusion - 20 minutes
Sea Lions Tonight - 25 minutes. This is a completely different show from the Clyde and Seamore show and is very funny. It's a parody of other shows and attractions at SW. We enjoyed it a lot. Once again, the mime does a 15 minute pre-show and is actually in the nighttime show.
Mistify - Approx. 15 minutes (They don't list a time for this on the schedule but I looked at my watch as we were leaving.)

IMO, the not to be missed shows are Believe, Blue Horizons and both Sea Lion Shows.

You ROCK! Thats exactly what I needed to know. Now I know how feasable it will be to get from show to show, and I'm worried it might take extra time to get our food, since a lot of people will be at this picnic thing.

Wow! Thanks so much! I plan on being there for possibly 12 hours and I'm not sure that we'll have time to get breakfast and dinner food outside the park.

p.s. to all, we are given the opportunity to upgrade our ticket to the fun pass for $15... but what's the fun of going to a theme park and not trying to do it all in one day!?! We might get it if we think we're getting too 'pooped'. One good thing about our seasonal disney passes: Summers are blocked, so this would be a perfect time for a sea world pass. Of course I was looking forward to a nice relaxing money saving summer What was I thinking
