Not necessarily... it is still early by Fall standards for general discounts.

I know right, check everyday for the dining in October. It is usually announced by mid June, I am so ready to book but I keep waiting. Planning to arrive Oct 6.

Last 2 years.. Fall offers were announced in July. So I wouldn't expect anything for another 2-6 weeks.
Then again, with the early release of 2012 packages, it is possible we will see earlier discounts.

Add us to the "WAIT" list. We were planning on going in Oct/Nov. but then canceled due to DH's health issues and buying a new house. Now that we're finally in the new house we NEED a vacation. So much DRAMA we need some family time in our Happy place. I don't care if were at a value or deluxe for 6 days or 2 weeks we just need some time to unwind. I'm hoping for the begining of Nov. But our dates are flexible. Going to Surprise DH w/ the trip too!!!

Sorry....off topic....but I love this! I had to go look up "fortnight" to see what it meant! Such a pretty way to word this sentence. I love all the language differences on this board.

I'm with you all too, gotta go take my FP boards in late october and waiting for a discount PIN so I can stay on-site rather than at the stuffy convention hotel (orlando peabody). I just can't justify Disney's rack rates

My BFF and travel buddy called today and she is thinking WDW in October, November or December this year!

We had pushed it off to next year due to health and financial issues.

It's unusual for her to be the first one to want to return to WDW (our last visit was December 2007).

If we go, it would be low budget and dependent on decent airfare (from California & Arizona).

So I'm waiting and watching for discounts!

Right now Southwest has $144 each was KC to Orlando. I was getting close to buying, but now that oil is edging down......... Hmmmmmm.........

I for one am hoping that Southwest has their Birthday Sale this week. I have seen some speculation that possibly Tuesday. I googled "southwest airlines birthday sale" and it seems to get released around the middle of June.

My flight down is good, $109 but my flight back $275
