Hi!
I am new to the board. This is a great place for Disney Fans.

Anyway, I am planning our Christmas 2007 vacation now. Currently we are booked at the new Family Suites in All-Star Music . I am trying to decide if I should upgrade to Port Orleans French Quarter and surprise my family. We stayed last Easter and really enjoyed our trip?

I am very unsure about what to do.

IMO, an upgrade is worth it. A mod, especially POFQ because it is small, will be quieter. Also, you will probably enjoy the hot tub in December.

I love POFQ. I've never stayed in any of the Value resorts.

But I think I'd pick the suite in the Value over the one room at POFQ.

The suite in the Value is 2 rooms, which also means 2 bathrooms, 2 TVs, etc., plus it has a kitchen. You'll have 520 square feet of space, plus two fairly separate spaces, so there can be a sleeping room for the kids while the grown ups ahng out and watch TV, etc.

The room in POFQ is 314 square feet, and is just ine room.

Now, if you're talking about upgrading to 2 connecting rooms at POFQ, then go for it, as long as the cost isn't a problem.

We stayed at POFQ in May 2005
The resort was wonderful
Small, quiet, good transportation, great rooms
You won't be disapointed

Good luck

I've been fortunate enough to stay at the All Stars, the moderates and the deluxes. Most recentely I stayed at POR when really economically we should have stayed at a value. IMHO it wasn't worth it. I ended up not liking the theme, while really liking the cute icons everywhere around the values. The room admitidly was nicer, but it didn't have that same element of fun. However, if you're going to stay at a value I would definitely rent a car! I actually ended up preferring the value to the moderate and if I had to choose again between a mod or value I'd go value......or if I was lucky enough splurge for the deluxe! Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

I think I would stay with the suite. To me, giving up the extra room, privacy, kitchen, etc isn't really an upgrade. Nothing wrong with POFQ...but just the difference in the room types I wouldn't!

I made the switch last night. I decided to go with POFQ.

Anyway, The girl on the phone seemed to know what she was doing but she made the reservation under two different numbers and said she eas going to link them together.

When I questioned and said this was differnet from when we had two rooms last year, she said they have to do it this way now and that it will save time at check in with their new system?

Does this sound right or will our reservation be all messed up now?

Hi Colleen,

Our family stayed at POFQ over Christmas last year and loved it!! It is a gorgeous resort with great theming; as others have said it's small, quaint, and all locations are close to the food court, store, and bus stop. You won't regret it!!
