We are creatures of habit, and typically eat breakfast at Storyteller's Café 2x during our stay (yes, we love it that much and so do our girls!). We will be going to DL for the 4th time this upcoming August and trying to decide if we should branch out and try bfast at the Plaza in place of Storytellers one time. Girls have met Minnie and Pooh friends at DW before but the characters such as Fairy Godmother, Hook, etc sound fun. Are they usually always there too? Nervous to switch it up as we do love the food at Storytellers....

I haven't been for several years but the breakfast with Minnie was TONS of fun for my family. The food is good for a breakfast buffet (I'm not a big breakfast food person but even with that I found plenty of things to eat that I liked). If I remember correctly they had an omelet station, pancakes and waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon etc. Normal breakfast stuff. They had cereal and maybe oatmeal but not sure on that since I didn't eat that. I remember plenty or fruit as well. Characters wise it can vary from what I have heard but the interaction was terrific. At one point several of the characters brought all the kids in the middle and danced with them to the music. I did not feel rushed with any of the characters and they all paid special attention to my DD who was 2 at the time (her first trip to DL, she's 6 now). I would absolutely go back to the Plaza for breakfast. It was a lot of fun.

We ate at both Storytellers and the Plaza for breakfast in December. The food at the Plaza was terrible. All dried out and apparently having been run through a flavor vacuum. OTOH, Storytellers had great food. All nice and fresh. Very flavorful.

Again those are both comments about the breakfasts at those locations. We are big fans of the Plaza for lunch.

We went to Minnie and Friends just two weeks ago and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We made a reservation for 1030 on our early entry day and treated it like an early lunch. It was a great time to go since it wasn't at all crowded and we had tonnes of time with the characters. We saw Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Hook, Minnie, Chip and Dale, the Fairy Godmother, Rafiki, Suzy the mouse from Cinderella and a few more. Tigger must have spent a good five minutes with my kids bouncing and playing. By 1115 there were only about five families left on our side of the restaurant and three or four characters interacting with us.

We thought the food was quite good at the Plaza. Nothing special, but my kids usually skip the lovely fresh foods and ask for a bowl of cereal at breakfast buffets anyway. My husband and I both enjoyed the made to order omelets and waffles and there was plenty of fresh fruit which I always like.

Another plus was that it was a very busy, hot day with spring break crowds and it was worth the money just to have an hour long break in the middle of the day, hanging out it the cool, comfortable restaurant with the characters while everyone else slogged down Main Street in the heat and crowds on the other side of the windows. It came to $95 for two adults and two children and although the food wasn't worth that much the overall experience definitely was.

We've eaten at Minnie's breakfast twice, and enjoyed it both times. According to the Disneyland website the breakfasts are essentially the same food at both of those buffets, and the prices are about the same too. We saw a variety of characters both times. And we saw Captain Hook at both trips too. You could schedule your breakfast during an early entry. You don't use your Magic Morning for it, they have a separate gate for breakfast guests. They start the buffet at 7:10 on early entry days at Disneyland in the summer. It's nice because you enter the park when it's practically empty (those there for MM are already at the rides mostly). There are less people around, so you'll get to see the characters for sure and the food will be fresh. And, assuming you spend an hour there, when you finish the park should have just opened.

We're actually going to eat at Storytellers this time because we haven't tried it yet. We're looking forward to seeing some different characters you can't find in the park, hoping to see Meeko. Glad to hear you love it so much.

We have never done Storytellers, but we have done Plaza several times. We have typically seen Minnie, Tigger, Eeyore or Pooh, Hook, Fairy Godmother, Chip and or Dale, and Rafiki. We always have great character interactions, and they do seem to take their time if you show interest in having some time with them. The food, however, has never really wowed my socks off. We pay for the meal feeling that we pay for the characters, not so much for the food. There is great variety, but it has sometimes been less than hot, or a little on the dry/flavorless side. We will continue to go back, however, because our young girls still love meeting characters, and it is always a fun way to start a day, or take a mid morning break.

Done Plaza twice and had the same reaction both times...bad cafeteria food. I would do Surf's Up at PPH or Goofy's Kitchen at DLH WELL before Plaza. Surf's Up is one of my favorite breakfast stops.

I've done Plaza for breakfast, and it was ok. The setting is the best part. I was by myself, and didn't see any characters (which was fine with me). I have to compare Plaza Inn to Crystal Palace at WDW because of the location. CP's breakfast blows it away.

I've only had dinner at Storytellers (last month)for dinner. And while it was pretty good, the selection was way too limited for the price. Again, comparing it to WDW. Boma makes Storytellers seem like a joke.

We do Minnie's Breakfast most of our visits, The interaction with the characters is GREAT. Capt. Hook, Fairy Godmother (Who will say her most famous line for pictures if prompted. She'll stop at Bobbity so she has a smile when you click the button.) Max (Goofy's son). Once we were seated in a corner and a CM made sure we saw all the characters bringing them over to us by hand and double checking to make sure we had time with each one of them. The food is typical breakfast food. But I agree with adykate not really paying for the food, paying for the interaction with the characters and its a great way to start your Disney Day!

We have done the Plaza Inn breakfast twice. Food aside, which is just okay, our first experience there was amazing. It was pouring rain outside and I don't know if that was the reason but we had like 12 characters. It was one of our first character meals at DL after many at WDW and we were blown away by not only the number of characters, but the interaction and the random variety. It was fantastic. So, when we went back to DL the second time we were sure to do this breakfast again. I have to say it didn't live up to our first experience, but was still decent. There were less characters (5 or 6) and it felt more rushed. We left feeling a little meh about the whole thing.

This time we decided to do PCH Grill again instead. We did all the character meals on our first visit and only a couple on the second visit. We loved PCH Grill. My only hesitation is that my 18 month old LOVES Hook (so funny) and the Peter Pan ride will be down and I am not sure how we will see him otherwise, although he won't know what he is missing anyway. But I know he would have a great reaction to seeing Hook. So, I am still debating if we should do Plaza Inn again or just skip it. I do love the location, though- it just feels so Disney to me.

At both of our visits we saw about 10 characters. I think 5 or 6 is a bit abnormal. Maybe you were just in a bad location, or timing? Most people say they see a lot of and a good variety of characters at Minnie's. And, as you said, the location is great. The time of day may matter too. I suggest going during other's early entry time so you can be some of the first. Although others have said being last is good as the restaurant clears out and you get the characters to yourself. But we around 10am last year, were seated outside, and still saw tons of characters. It was late June and the park was BUSY. There were some characters at the meal we didn't get to meet, but we met our fair share.

The food is eh (although kids like it) but the character line up and interaction can't be beat. Worth every penny IMO.
