Should we try Bongo's

We are really trying to do some different restuarants this trip and are undecided on Bongo's....Looks like it may be ok .....especially since I'm pretty much Mr. Meat and Potatoes....However, I have read some pretty bad reviews regarding the service.....and still a little unsure about the menu for finicky eaters.....any advice ...Thanks in advance

Tried Bongos in 2002.
The whole family loved it.
Don't remember too many specifics, but we will be going back!

last month. DH and I wanted to go to House of Blues, but they had an hour wait. We ended up at Bongo's and were glad that we did. We were seated immediately, our server was very nice and outgoing. This restaurant was pretty loud especially considering all the tables weren't full. DH and I didn't know what to get, and we weren't terribly hungry. We ordered the combo appetizer plate to share. We enjoyed tasting all the different items. The only thing that I noticed was that everything we ate was brown and deep fried. That doesn't bother DH, but I like a little more variety! I am one who complained about service 3 years ago 6 of us (all adults) ate there and had the worst service I have ever experienced at WDW. It took over an hour to get our food and then it arrived cold. The manager was not sympathetic and refused to do anything to compensate. Whenever I've encountered any service or food related problem at WDW the managers have gone out of the way to take care of us-not Bongo's.

We really liked it in January this year. They have a nice selection of dishes including seafood and chicken and the waiter we had was great and had some awesome suggestions for us. We arrived during Prime Time on a Friday Night and had no problems with service. They actually told us it would be 45 minutes- 1 hour to be sat and we had a table 5 minutes later. We didn't complain!

We really liked it. Service and food were excellent. Try to sit upstairs and get your photo taken!
