Should we take breaks if we're only at each park one day?

We'll be in FL for two weeks this summer, at a family reunion. We'll do Kennedy Space Center, HDDR, a Disney water park day, Sea World and probably the Dixie Stampede.

We'll be at WDW parks for just 4 days at the end of the trip. We'll do parks M and T, a break on W and then again TH and F. We'll be offsite, so no early entry.

I've been wondering about taking a break, since we'll have such limited time. Instead of taking a nap/swim break, I've though about scheduling a late lunch, through PS.

Do people do this? I was thinking the Sci Fi diner at MGM, Ice Cream social at EPCOT, to start.

Any thoughts on this? My kids will be 12, 9 and 7.

Thanks

Julia

I wouldn't take a break with kids that age and only 4 days, I think a nice leisurely lunch to revive yourself is a great idea.

We never take a break when we go to the parks!:teeth: When we get a little tired, we'll take a monorail ride around the resorts and just relax a little bit. A nice lunch break helps too. You're kids are old enough that they shouldn't need a long break! Have a great trip!:sunny:

My kids are that age now and we don't take daily breaks anymore. We will sometimes do a long lunch or even a long show and that lets us relax and recharge. The TTA at MK is a great place to take a break as well as the American Adventure at Epcot.

I agree that being off site you would waste too much time with a break. We often do a long sit down lunch as a park break. Lunch at a nice resort seems to make it even better. Choose a resort close to your park and take a couple hours off for a nice lunch. A long monorail ride is also a great break. There are good places in all the parks to spend some down time also. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the thoughts. I had been leaning agaisnt taking breaks, as our time is limited.

We could stay a bit longer, and have more days for the parks, but my kids are kind of homebodies. They LOVE to travel, but basically do best when we've been gone a week. On this trip our days at Disney come at the end, so I'm just inclined to limit our Disney days.

Now I just have to figure out our schedule (where should we eat? ) But of course, that's the fun part.

TTA - Tomorrowland Transit Authority (formerly known as the Wedway People Mover)

I also vote for no breaks. My children are small (2 and 4), but we've never stopped for breaks other than eating. We usually travel at slower times of year when the parks close early, so if we were to take a break (ie: swimming or napping at the hotel), the park would be closing by the time we got back.

Take in a long lunch or dinner, stop for ice cream, etc. You will be recharged and ready to go! :)

Have a great time!

Run 'em into the ground!! Thats my moto. Breaks are for the weak. ;) We go, go, go till someone has a meltdown. (Usually my DH. )
Plus they sleep like rocks at night.

LOL!!! :p I agree with Sydnclairesmom!!! You are at Disney!!! You can rest any time, but then! We go early, stay late, and try to do things without totally rushing. What happens, happens. We have done this when our dd was 7mo, and 2yo & never have any problems. She rarely even napped during park days!

Go and have a great time! They can rest when they get home... ;)
