Should We Switch MK Day?

We have Tuesday dec 9 morning planned at Epcot and our afternoon planned at MK. Since Epcot has morning magic hours we are just going to ride standby. We have fast passes for MK from 12:30-6:30 and one of them includes our 1st fastpass for 7DMT. Since they switched the parade days I'm afraid of walking into the hornets nest we ran I to last time. WWYD?

Main Street will be packed for taping during the day. But there will be backstage areas open to get you around it. The rides should be okay and fairly unaffected by the taping.

Also, we are planning to hop to MK the night if Dec 8; do they reopen Main Street at some point in the evening?

Festival of Fantasy is scheduled for 5, so it will have to be open by then. And there's a MVMCP that night, so Main Street will definitely be open for that.

Will overall crowds be significantly worse. Touring plans has December 9 as a crowd level 2. And it is recommended day.


We had purposely changed our days around to avoid Magic Kingdom on Saturday Dec 6 (which I thought was going to be parade taping days).

I assume this re-schedule is going to make the MVMCP a lot busier? I hope not!

we were at MK during a taping in 2009. We started out day at AK and got to MK in the afternoon. We were rushed around the back of MK as they were taping. It was crazy busy (of course the Jonas brothers were there at that time). We ended up going around the entire MK only being able to ride potc and jungle cruise. The crowd was crabby the CMs were crabby. We finally had enough and left. We did get some nice pictures of Kelly ripa and some guy being interviewed that girls were screaming and throwing themselves at (still have no clue who he is). We finally went to epcot. We originally were going to avoid it since it had a higher crowd level but it was not bad at all. We couldn't ride the headliners but were able to ride a few other rides and have a much needed grey goose slushie.

this is the very reason I always get park hoppers. We are starting our day at MK and if it gets busy we can always leave.

One probably won't have much to do with the other. The people who get tickets to the parade taping are mostly CMs and their friends and families. I don't see a ton of them rushing to buy tickets to a late-night party after getting to the park very, very early that morning.

Yeah, I didn't know about the rescheduled taping on the 9th. We have a 12:15 BOG fastpass. This will also be our arrival day and we have FP+ at Epcot in the late afternoon. Just wondering how much time would we need to get from the gates to the restaurant? Just wanted to plan when to leave Pop Century and either using Disney Transport or driving ourselves. It's also our first time staying on-site. TIA.
