Should we rent a car?

We are going on our first family trip to WDW in March and have six park days. We are staying at BLT so we are able to walk to MK. What should we do about transportation to the other parks? As of now, our flight will be arriving at 9:45pm. Is taking ME still recommended? I guess the biggest concerns are the long bus lines and not sure how we feel about taking uber/lyft for covid reasons. But also not crazy about the added expense of renting a car if it's not necessary.

I know March is a ways off but would love to hear your opinions about this.

It is not necessary to rent a car, but will save time. How much time depends on how much you are using it. It may also make you feel better about being there. We also have no idea what WDW will look like in March. It's entirely possible that the Monorail is running to Epcot, so you would only be taking buses to AK and HS, if you feel you have to rope drop either or both of those, than you would want a car, same thing if you are planning on staying until close.

We can be pretty certain that rental cars are going to be obscenely expensive. Lower numbers in the fleets, plus the bankruptcy of a couple of the major players, plus a higher percentage of Disney visitors wanting to rent cars all adds up to high prices. I flew into MCO two weeks ago, I paid 40% more for a rental than I did for a similar trip in 2017. I looked two weeks before I went and an economy car was averaging $100 day for when I was there. Is parking included in your BLT stay or is that another $25/day you have to figure into your calculations?
