For several years now my wife and I have considered buying into the DVC. We are on the brink of buying. Should we go over the falls or save our money?

If you feel comfortable with the decision to buy, and where you buy, then do it! We wavered for a few years, mainly b/c of our own finances, and bought last year. Best decision we ever made! You won't regret it all! Good Luck with your decision and hope to welcome you home soon.

hi: do you take a vacation every year or at least every other year? if yes, then dvc may be for you. do you enjoy wdw? do you generally prefer to stay in deluxe or better accommodations? the studios at the dvc resorts are comparable to a deluxe hotel room but have the added benefit of a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. can you afford it financially? remember, once you have the purchase paid for, all you will be paying for is the dues. and remember, BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO SPEND THE MOST TIME; that cannot be stressed enough. the 11 month priority window can be a great asset. hope to welcome you guys home soon.

We thought about it for a couple of years, but could not swing the money. This last summer we sold our cruiser that we kept on the Hudson River. Our DVC payments are now 1/3rd what we paid in boat loan, dock fees, canal fees, registration fees, maint, insurance and gas for that @#*& boat.

It's all in how comfortable you feel.

We have been members since 92, we told friends of ours about the DVC, they took the tour and loved it, but them stalled for 2 or 3 years then took the plunge. To this day they are sorry they waited so long to make up there mind! If you love WDW and visit yearly or every couple of years, and can swing it financially, then it's a worth while investment.

If you've thought about it for several years and are on the brink of buying as you say, then it seems to me you have probably worked out many of the details and are just looking for a push.
Well,let me help you out.

We bought 18 months ago on an impulse. Best thing we did. Since then there have been 2 increase's. Buy Now! We have 250 points. We have already spent a week at Old Key West(2 Bed rm) and 4 days at sea and are about to spend a week at the Boardwalk ( 2 bed rm) We have gotten back over half the money we spent and we have something like 42 years left!!

You are asking the wrong people. Go look in the mirror and ask them.

We may fight and bicker on this board but I don't think there is anyone who doesn't thing DVC was a good, strike that, great idea.

We just returned from our first trip and have a 2 year old and one under one. It was great having the CM at checkout advise that since we had no charges to our room we were done. I realize that we paid for this privelege but there is something appealing about not having to pay at checkout and to think 42 more years. It is certainly a major decision but we are very pleased and recommend going for it.

We joined in 1997 and we have no regrets..just a silly smile on our faces all the time!

If you enjoy taking annual vacations and staying in luxury suits, than DVC may be the right vehicle for you! We were hooked the minute we walked in the door at OKW .. We've always enjoyed our vacations, but since joing DVC we have found that we enjoy our vacations even more. Once we expereienced the joy of feeling "at home" in our vacation villa and didn't have to spend time in a cramped hotel room we knew we could never go back! We found ourselves planning more frequent vacations! It is a totally different vacation experience and we've never regretted our decision to buy in..The only question we keep asking ourselves..do we have enough points!!

Good luck with your decision!

Have a wonderful day!

about where and how. I think the recurring theme is that we all wish we would have done it sooner. We thought about it for 4 years before we bought in because we didn't want to have a loan for it. We waited until we could pay cash, and now we can see that we missed out on 4-5 years of wonderful vacations, where in that time we were traveling to WDW every other year and spending bundles. Now we travel there 2 times a year and gloat at what we are saving. Next year we will take a trip to Hawaii that we did an exchange for with our membership, plus we will have two Disney trips as well next year.

The main advice here, do it sooner rather than later. We saw the price increase twice while we were "thinking". It only took us a couple of years to then add on 150 points to increase or "stash"! I can easily say it is the best thing we ever did! :) ºoº
