Should we move ourselves?

Hi! We are staying one night at ASMu before a 5 night stay at WL. I am worrying about having them move my luggage. Should we just get up, check out and take a cab to WL moving all our stuff ourselves?

I've had Disney move my luggage many times, and had no problems. But if you plan on checking in to your second hotel before going to the parks, you might as well take a cab and your luggage too.

If you need to get to your new resort early in the morning to get your package stuff (tickets, dining, etc.) then a taxi over is the best bet. (However, that will involve lots of tipping). (Taxi driver, bellman that stores your luggage at WL, and bellman that delivers your luggage to your room at WL).

Personally, I would just let Disney deliver the luggage. Since you are at All-Star Music, you can call Luggage Services the night before and schedule a pickup. Then leave your luggage stacked by the door. They are not a tipped position, so no tip is necessary, but they do appreciate something. Then one of you can take the taxi over to WL and get the package stuff and meet the rest of your party at a park.

Then when you get back to WL that afternoon, call for your luggage.

If you don't need to get to WL that morning for package documents, then just schedule a pickup, leave the luggage by the door and head on to the parks, when you get to WL later that afternoon and check in, call for your luggage.

It's been awhile since we had Disney transfer our luggage, but I like to be there when the luggage is picked up because they've given me luggage-tag tickets. So when I get to my new resort, I have the numbers in-hand and it definitely makes it easier for Bell Services to find my luggage and deliver it to the room. As others have said, you can schedule a time for your luggage to be picked up the evening before your departure. Just ask for it to be early enough for you to hit the Parks. :)

I would let Disney World handle it. Take a bus to the MK, then a boat or bus to the WL. Check in, get your tickets and such, and enjoy a day at the parks! Then, when you come back, hopefully your room will be ready and your luggage will be waiting either in the room or at the front desk. :)

We are doing the same thing. Staying at POFQ for one night then CR for four. We will have our car so I am opting to drive over the next morning to check in. I am just making an overnight bag for our stay at POFQ. If I didnt have my car I would probably use bell services though. Although some are saying you have to wait awhile to get your luggage. Depends on whether you want to control its arrival time or not I guess.
