Should we go with grocery stop or grocery delivery??

We will need to get baby food and bottled water, plus a few snacks.

We are having a limo take us to the resort with a 30 minute grocery stop included. But of course, the "fine print" says that if your flight is late you may not get the grocery stop. Having food for the baby is NOT optional for us!!!

So. . ..

should I take my chances? Or go with wegoshop.com??

TIA!

We always go the grocery store route because we have a baby as well & need baby things. We too have a limo service & they told us we maybe arriving too early to be able to go to the grocery store because they won't be open yet. Our plane arrives at 6:30 AM - aren't the stores open by 7 AM? I am concerned because the baby stuff is a must for us. If you are able to go to a store, I would go that route - you can just pick up anything you want and the driver will wait for you. Thanks for mentioning the shopping link in your post above - how did you hear of this service and what do you know about them? BTW, we are using Tiffany Town Car for our service - what place are you using?

I'd probably go with wegoshop, rather than risk it - or you could end up with one upset little baby!!

There is a grocery store right near WDW called Goodings that I believe is open 24hrs. They have about everything you could need.

Wow, Thank you for your info - I really appreciate it! Now I can go to a store no matter how early it is. Thanks again!

Stop, get it yourself, get what you want and get a better slection. (and pay better prices.)

seetheworld,

Just to let you know in advance, Goodings will cost you double to 3x as much than going to any other grocery store. The Winn Dixie on 535 is open at 6:30am and the Publix on South I-Drive is open at 7am.

Wow, thank you so much for your help! I'll definately try one of the stores you mentioned! Thanks for letting me know - you are a lifesaver!

By the time your flight lands all you (and little ones) are going to want to do is get to your hotel. We have done both and WeGoShop is totally worth it. They have always been prompt and got our order correct. I don't know about your kids but stopping at the food store after a long flight doesn't work for us.

We are going with Wegoshop for the first time this upcoming trip...I have only heard great things about them...

For those using wegoshop in the next few weeks, please let us know how it goes. We are thinking of using them for our trip in May instead of shipping to the resort.
Thanks.

I'm a strange one, it sounds really good to use a grocery service, but I love to go to grocery stores in different towns. I like to see what they carry different then where I live and what the local specialties are.

How do you know what exactly they are getting for you when you use WEGO??? I was thinking about stopping for water, pop, juice and milk. Do they list what they can get for you on their site?? (What is the site address)

Can you ship it down ahead of time to your resort this way it will be there when you get there.

I shipped down diapers, wipes, snacks, breakfast, laudry detergent & a few other things the last time I went via UPS. My husband shipped it Thurs or Fri before we left from work & it arrived on Monday & we got there on Tuesday. It was about 30 lbs worth of stuff & it only cost $15.

It was nice not to have to worry about running into the store to get the things.

I am probably going to do the same this summer but I have to figure out what to do with my ds since he is dairy allergic so I may bring a cooler onto the plane with some food for him for the week-but I have to call the parks & see what they have that he can eat.

Worked out great!! Our flight was delayed and we had to deal with lost luggage and they were waiting patiently for us at the Dolphin. Got the order correct and made sensible substitutions were they had no other choice. We love them!!

When you stop for groceries, DO NOT leave your purse or any other valuables in the top of the cart. So many women leave their purses in the top of the cart and if I weren't the savvy New Yorker that I am, our last trip would have been ruined. ( I NEVER put my purse down anywhere!) Generally when you travel you have more cash/credit cards than usual, and there are people who prey on travellers. A man actually took my cart when my back was turned picking out produce. I was with my friend and there was one other person (this man) in the produce section. When we turned around to put our fruit in the cart, it was gone. We thought our other friend may have come and taken the cart to put groceries in it, but she didn't have it either. We walked through the whole store looking for our cart, and it mysteriously appeared again in produce, with this man standing an aisle away. This happened at the Publix. I reported it at the checkout counter, but since nothing was stolen, they couldn't do anything to the man. So just be aware of your surroundings.
