Should we go/where to stay?

I have been busy planning our first-ever trip to WDW for October (myself, my mom, and my 3-year-old daughter).

And yesterday I got an email deal on Disneyland hotels during the summer months. We live in Washington State. I haven't been to DLR since I was a teen (or maybe younger). I can get a GREAT airfare deal right now and am really tempted to do a little warm-up trip to DLR in June for a long weekend.

I am thinking about staying at the Disneyland Hotel, but again, I haven't been there in at least 25 years. It would just be me and my daughter on this trip. Do you recommend this hotel for us? Do you think doing a short trip like this to DLR will kind of ruin the surprise of the big WDW trip coming up in October?

Should we go???

For sure go! Disneyland is a completely different experience than WDW. Enjoy!

I wouldn't spend money on staying at the DL Hotel; I would rather stay at the HoJo that is the same distance to walk. They have the most amazing kid pool area... They also have entertainment card dates that you can get rooms for $59 a night.

Are you kidding? On a DLR board you ask "should we go to DLR? Duh! :)

Sorry can't help with your hotel choice. I think you can't go wrong with any of the DLR hotels.

But if you go in June be careful with choosing dates! There will be some really crowded days in June!

Okay, so I was really only looking for someone to push me over the edge of indecision into total commitment! :rotfl:

I will check out the crowd info. I am thinking June 3 through 6.

I think I am drawn to the Disneyland Hotel out of pure nostalgia from when I was a kid and we stayed there. ;)

June 11 is the big day because of WOC. Early June should be pretty tame for crowds. :)

Thank you so much for the info! I have been planning our WDW trip for about a year, so considering a spur-of-the-moment trip to DL is a little daunting!!
