Why not do Disneyland in California this time. It is much easier to do DL with a baby IMHO only because it is more contained, not so many shuttles and such when there are great hotels right across the street. It can easily be done in 4 days, and you still get to go to DW later. It's a win win situation. The price of the 5 day park hopper would save you enough so that you could fly. It's about a 2.5-3 hour flight from St. Louis vs. a 16 hour drive with a one year old. Here is what it breaks down to:
2 tickets from St Loius non stop: $155.00 each = $310.
Marriott hotel 4 nights and 2 - 5 day park hoppers = $529.
Transportation to and from hotel or cheap rental car = $80
Food for 4 days = $281.00
There is your $1200 budget. That can buy you some good meals there too and Whitewater Snacks at the Grand Califonian has awesome food at great prices and huge portions.
Let me know what you think, I think it would be totally do able for you and you can skip the drive!! You may even be able to get a rental car for about $49 for 4 days there, and they do not charge to park at the hotel and it is right across the street, about 5 min walk to front gates, no folding strollers or waiting for busses!! Good luck!
