WE are planning a trip this year and I am wondering if we should splurge for the 10 day no expire tickets??? I have a family of 4 my little ones are 3 and 6...most likely we will stay 6-7 days on this trip...we hope to get back in 1.5 to 2 years??? What is the best deal for these???? Are they really worth it???

You really need to do your own math - there are too many combinations to consider. But the 10 day no-expiration is about the same price as two 5 day expiring tickets (though you'd lock in your park admission price by buying now to use in 1.5-2 years). Don't lose your ticket, though, before you have a chance to use the remaining days!

If you enjoy spending some of your days outside of the parks I think non-expiring make a lot of sense. In those 6-7 days, if you are planning on NOT going to the parks on your first and last day, that will give you 5 more park days for another trip. If you add the water parks option, you get 10 extra days to spend at the water parks which can really stretch your trips. But if you plan to spend 6-7 days in the parks, it wouldn't be worth it because you will only have 3-4 days left for another trip.

I spent 6 nights in WDW and only used 3 days of my non-expiring tickets. I bought a ticket to MVMCP for one of the days, and spent the other days enjoying the resorts and DTD. I have 7 days left and plan to spread them out over at least 2 more trips. Plus I have 9 more plus options left since I spent one night at Pleasure Island. So for me it makes sense. Depends on how you like to vacation.

Yes, the 10-day, no-expire is a good idea if you are planning to go back and you are the type of person who will not misplace or forget you have them. Many tickets are lost or forgotten before they are completely used. :sad2:

Of course, you may not know what you'll have left or what you'll need in 2 years or if these tickets will cover it. Good planning is key and you may be better off knowing what you'll need for this trip and purchasing that.

Assuming that you were to use 5 park days this trip and the remaining park days on a later trip, you might want to compare the cost of a 10-day no-expiry vs 2 5-day expiry passes.

In that case the 10-day adult no-expiry MYW base pass would run $431.33 with no discounts. Two 5-day adult expiry MYW base passes would be $585.76. Assuming that prices DO NOT go up between now and the next time you use your tickets, your savings would be over $150 per person.

But if you consider that buying those 10-day passes ties up a big chunk of money for a few years, you may want to get the 5-day passes.

Then there's the possibility that they may get misplaced or even lost between trips.

Or, you may find that Disney offers a package deal that is too tempting to pass up except that you already have money tied up in partially-used 10-day passes.

The best deals can usually be gotten thru the MouseSavers newletter link. But every once in a while, other ticketbrokers will put certain passes on sale, so you need to keep an eye on all of them.

One 10-day adult no-expiry MYW base pass = 239.63 (base) + 191.70 (no-expiry) = 431.33

Two 5-day adult expiring MYW base passes = 228.98 * 2 = 457.96

You included the no-expiry option on the 5 day pass in your calculation, mad4themouse.

You save $26 per person going the 10 day route, not over $150 per person.

I don't know if you need/want hoppers or not. You'd save $45 more with the 10 day over 2 5 days if you want hopping (you only pay the hopper fee once per ticket).

As far as buying a 10 day ticket, photo copy it so you have the numbers somewhere safe. If it is lost, I think Disney will replace it if you have the photocopy/numbers from them. Also, if your child gets older after purchasing the child's ticket, Disney will upgrade it to the over 9 ticket at no additional charge. I don't know if any of this will help but, just in case you were worried about the child/adult difference later....it won't matter as long as at least 1 day has been used on the ticket of the child's, they will upgrade it for no additional charge (the child must be with you to do this).
