We will be arriving at BCV roughly 9:00AM when we return from our cruise. Is there any point to checking in that early, or should we wait until after lunch? We'll be going to Epcot anyway, so we will park at BCV in any case.

I would check in right away. If you get very lucky, the room will be available, at worst you'll have to wait for your room.

Check in. Last year we went to the BCV after a cruise and got our room right away. We checked in around 9:30 A.M. and we were very surprised but very pleased.

The other thing is with the discontinuation of "senority/creation" date room request blocking, you are better off checking in right away if you have any requests for your room. Even if it is not ready to go into they will assign a room to you at the time you check in.

If the resort is full the night before you will have to wait for a room. If not you MAY get in early.

We checked in as soon as we got to the VWL after our cruise on Nov. 14th, it was before 11 AM, and our room was ready! So, give it a try, and enjoy your cruise!

Our flight gets in late on Dec 8 and we are spending that night at POR. We are going to have breakfast in the AM and then hightail it over to the BCVs to check in. If our room is ready, so much the better. If not, our friends will be there and we can just drop our stuff in their room and take on the day.

Last year we got our room in Dec at 10:30 am! You just never know!

Have a great trip!

Check in. We checked in early at the BWV in October and got a great room that matched our requests. It was not ready at checkin - but they did assign the room then. We had a CM in training so we heard the whole spiel by the trainer. They pulled up all the rooms that were being vacated that day and looked for one that matched our requests. So go for it!

Our arrival time at OKW is usually 7:15 AM. We always check in and have gone to our room more times than not. You might not have as great a chance of getting your room at BCV as compared to OKW, but, give it a shot. Can't hurt.

A few times we could not get a room for our arrival date so we stayed in a value. I would wake up at 6:00 AM and make tea for DW and then head over to OKW for a 7:00 AM check in. By 8:00 AM we were at OKW.

I agree with others check in! The room may or may not be ready at the time, but if you let them know you are willing to wait for one that meets your requests you are more likely to get a room that meets your requests assigned to you at that time a day.

I agree with everyone who says try to check in. It would be nice to come back from Epcot and go straight to your room. :D

You should definitely check in. Like others have said, if you have any requests attached to your ressie, you are much more likely to get what you asked for the earlier you check in. As I'm sure you know, if your room is not ready the CMs are happy to store both luggage and food ( even food that requires refrigeration) for you until you return.

Be aware... when you are "given" a room that is not ready, that assignment will frequently change between the time of your assignment, and the time you actually show up to occupy it. There have been numerous posts recently of people "losing" the room location they were originally assigned to. It seems that if someone with a similar request profile checks in while you are away at the parks, the "room-ready" policy gives your room away. This has resulted in some multiple-room groups being split up, when they were originally told that their rooms were close together. It seems the answer would be to call the phone number frequently between the time of check-in and occupancy.

I think you should check in upon arrival because the lines might not be as bad at that time, since official check-in time is in the afternoon. Also, just in case there is a problem with your reservation, you can get that handled right away, versus after a whole day at Epcot.

Have a great trip.

How would someone know their room was changed? They don't give out the room number until it's ready.

You are not told your room number when you check in before the room is ready, but you do get your room keys. If you have to get new keys or your keys "re programmed" before you find out the room number, it's a very, very good bet that your room assignment was changed after you checked in.

Best wishes -

It's worth a try. I would check in as soon as you arrive! :flower: :flower:
