Should we change our Dec trip to the 2nd week?

Well, we have ressies for Dec 2-9, but we can't get a 1 or 2BR for any days during that time, we have a SSR studio now, but we have 5 of us going, so that won't really fly. Plus, we had to change most of our ADRs when we added the 5th person, so everything is just terrible. I know- poor planning, but I just did not expect so many people to be going- I knew a lot of DVCers went, but to take up all the ADR spots, too? That's a bunch of folks! Anyway, I was wondering what your thoughts are on moving our vaca back a week to the 2nd week in Dec. Is it just as bad? I keep seeing messages about the 1st week and then the week of Christmas, but haven't seen too much on the 2nd week of December. What do y'all think? Oh, and I will certainly live even if we have to sqeeze in a studio, it's totally my fault, but I'd rather be spread our just a bit. We are WL for anywhere in a bigger place that week. You may want to call and check on availability first, you may not be able to switch to the second week.

I don't believe you can legally put 5 in a studio.

The first week of December is Mousefest. There you've got the most knowledgable, dedicated Disney fans flocking to the theme parks. Between that and the dining plan, I'm not surprised that ADRs are hard to come by.

If you can get a 1B now by changing your dates, without incurring a bunch of other expenses (airline change fees, etc.), it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

If you keep the same dates, make sure you're on the waiting list. SSR has a new building opening November 1st and may have a second following in December. As DVC continues to sell more points, they will add more units to the DVC member inventory. If you are on the waitlist, you should have first dibs on those additional rooms.
