Should we cancel Narcoossee's?

I am getting a tad nervous. I have now read several bad reviews of Narcoossee's. We already have reservations for CA Grill, but wanted to add 1 more signature meal. Would you cancel this and change to a different signature restaurant? :confused3

definitly cancel especially if you are going to cali grill first your narcooses food will be disgusting, actually either way it will be horrible.
I really can't believe that it is a signature dinner it shouldn't even be a counter service. the food is not even edible. honestly i am not one to exagerate but it was gross.

I love Narcoossee's, but I'm not sure if I agree that it is a "Signature" restaurant. IMO, it is not in the same league with the California Grill or the YSH either in quality or price. Then again, that's why I like it. I can get a good meal for less than the pricy expensive places. Are you sure you need to spend the credits on a Signature restaurant? How about dinner in Epoct and then lunch at Prime Time or Mama Melrose's? You would get two good meals for the "price" of one.

I have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. Wonderful food and service. My boyfriend, who lived for years on the East coast and knows his seafood, said the lobster there was the best he's ever had. Give it a try. :)

Tinkbell, when was the last time you were there?
Maybe narcooses has gotten a new chef or wait staff and that is where the problems are coming from, but when I say it was horrible I really mean it. I don't think that anyone would be able to eat the filet that we were served or the lobster that literally tasted like you were chewing on rubber.

I had heard the bad reviews as well and switched to Artist Point. I can't wait to go!

Last I ate there was August 2002 and it was very good. But if I were to change to a restaurant, and I see you are already going to CG, then I would pick Wolfgang Puck, where you need ressies to eat upstairs. I ate here and just loved it. I had a table looking out at the water and what a great view. The food and service was great.

Narcoosees is as good as it gets. On par with CG for us. We last ate there in the March. For whoever said YSH is a signature restaurant, it was our worst meal in March and wouldn't go if you bought my meal.

We have ADRs for Narcoosees and CG in a couple of weeks

We were at Narcoosee's a year ago and my husband returned on business a couple weeks ago. We all had great meals. iwaseeyore it was me who said YSH was good. I was there in August and the food was very good. Every restaurant in WDW gets raves and pans. I guess ours cancels each other's out ;).

I've just got back and had 3 signature meals, Cali Grill YSH and Narcoosees. Although Narcoosees wasn't bad it was my least favourite and I probably wouldn't rush back. Service was slow, food was ok. The crab cake was really good but everything else was just average. However we did eat at Victoria and Alberts the night before so my experience might be coloured by that.

Did you enjoy YSH? Maybe we should switch to that. I am now sooo confused.

I've read bad reviews of every restaurant, and good reviews of every restaurant.

Narcoossee has always been one of the most popular restaurants at WDW, for both its excellent food quality and great service. It is at the Grand Floridian, a place that Disney is famous for making a point of being sure its perfect. Narcoossee has a better-than 4 star rating from the DIS's own guide, with the only less-than-stellar marks for value (it IS incredibly expensive!) with comments including, "Awesome dining experience."

I wouldn't cancel Narcoosees. We just ate there in August and had what we deemed the Best Evening of the trip, even with a night at CG. Everything about our dinner there was perfectly done. The service, the food, the atmosphere.....wonderful. We were on the dining plan & used 2 credits per person to eat there & felt it was completely worth the credits. Our meal came to around $200 for 2 people including tip (we also tipped extra as our server was sooooo fantastic, he deserved more than 15%)
I did read the recent bad review of Narcoosees & felt bad that the person had such a terrible experience there, but I would reiterate that that is not everyones experience there. You really have to give it a try for yourself as people have different experiences.

Ignore what everyone says!

Everyone has different tastes.

Every restaurant at Disney gets good reviews and bad reviews. Even my all time favourites get bad reviews, and I have had dissapointing meals at a restaurant that gets glowing reccomendations from everyone else. Chefs change. All restaurants have good days and bad days.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed the one and only meal I ate there.

We've eaten at Narcoossee's several times and always enjoyed it. It's one of my dad's favorites. What others have said is true--you will read good and bad reviews of every restaurant everywhere, not just at WDW. If the menu and setting were attractive to you, then I say try it. Remember, everyone was different tastes.

Hopefully, you will love the food and experience everywhere you eat. Chances are, you won't, though. I wouldn't let the usual assortment of reviews scare me away from somewhere I want to eat.

We are not returning to Narcoossee's this trip, but that's only because my Dsis's two boys could not possibly sit through a nice meal at a nice restaurant. (People dining there that week will thank me!) We'll definitely be back to Narcoossee's though.

Whatever you decide, enjoy!

We ate there in August and loved it, I had the mussels as an appetizer and I would have been happy with just 2 bowls of those, my husband had the filet and lobster and loved it, he then had the same dish at le cellier, and le cellier did not compare Narcoossee's was far superior, the restaurant itself is lovely, and our server was terrific.

My son was just saying the same thing last night at dinner. He was telling DH all about those mussels (DH wasn't with us last trip when we ate there)

Personally, I very much like Narcoosee's but I know there are fellow diners out there who don't. I'm fairly certain if one did a search on every restaurant at WDW one would find both yeas and nays for each one. That said, after all the opinions are in, ultimately only one opinion will really matter - yours.

We ate at Narcoosees on 9/29 and we all (DS 20, DS's GF 20, DS 17 and myself) voted this our best meal in a long long time. Harvey was our waiter and he was fantastic and well worth the extra tip we left him. DS's both had the seafood chowder appetizer (and shared DS's GF's appatizer of shrimp cocktail), I had the Caesar salad (a little strong for me but good). DS's both had the whole Main lobster which they ate with eyes rolled back in their heads from joy. DS's GF and I both had the grilled filet with potatoes gratin. I was about to ask why we did not have steak knives but soon discovered that we could cut the filet with our butter knives, very yummy. The potatoes were so good with the filet I need to get the recipe. We were stuffed so only ordered one dessert. I don't remember what it was called but it was chocolate to the extreme and very good. Since we only ordered one dessert, Harvey didn't charge me for my pot of coffee. The view from our table by the window was directly at the castle and space mountain across the water. Harvey got us finished up and out onto the deck just in time for the Wishes fireworks and electric water parade. It was an absolutely perfect evening from start to finish.

OTOH, we had ADR's for YSH on Sunday night and ended up not being charged for our RAW (as in not cooked at all) meat which took ONE HOUR to receive because it was "taking a long time because we asked for it well done". Bad experience at that one!
