I have been reading so many negative reviews about garden grill. We have eaten there before and I have always thought the food was good. I really love Liberty Tree Tavern and would go there over GG, but it is closed for renovations. I am thinking of cancelling GG because people are saying the food is terrible. We think the restaurant is cool but really don't go for the characters.

Characters aside, our family really loves Garden Grill. We just ate there about a week ago- and the service and food is terrific. Its a LOT of food- nothing mind blowing- but the menu had changed slightly. The tomato jam on the fish w/ the steamed rice was very nice and the beef was very good as well and not overcooked. The salad is basic- but quite tasty. Will the food blow your mind- No. Will you leave happy and satisfied- Yes. We love it a lot more than LTT- so I say keep your rezies and enjoy! :)

We also like Garden Grill - it is a must eat for us every trip. We like the turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls and dessert. The servers also bring me Mac and cheese and the dessert from the kids menu which I really appreciate.

GG was one of our favorite meals - because of the food. It felt fresher than other meals. (It's hard to describe what I mean)

I may be the outlier in this post, but Garden Grill was our worst meal of our trip a few weeks ago. I really was looking forward to it but I just didn't really like the set up of the restaurant and the indoor water smell? I'm not sure how to describe it.

Now I am not a picky eater and I was not expecting Victoria and Alberts but I can truly say that I thought the entree food was disgusting. Everything is mushy cafeteria food. The only brighter notes were the bread and butter in the beginning and the dessert cobbler at the end. The characters were great but if you aren't really concerned with them there won't be much else good there in my experience . It was so disappointing... it makes me wince a bit when I think of how much it cost :guilty:

I do think it is worth trying any place on your own to get your own impression but if there is anywhere else in Epcot that you want to try then I suggest going there. Any appeal that the restaurant concept had for me faded within a couple minutes.

I personally like eating there to see the Living with the Land sets. I have always found the food to be on par with most other Disney Resaurants.

NOOOOO! Keep it! LOL We dined there in November and it as the best meal of our whole trip, and we had wonderful meals all week. GG as the winner. We cannot wait to go back again. The food was delicious and fresh. I know not everyone will love something and restaurants have their off nights. But this is one we loved so much from the service, to the food to the character interaction, to the atmosphere. It was the perfect way to start the trip on our arrival day.

I agree! We love GG for the atmosphere, the characters, and we actually find the food pretty good, especially for theme park dining.

LTT was a bit more lackluster for us.

Im in the minority, but we hated GG. The characters were great though. The slow spin thing too, I know its slow, but after sitting there for over an hour, I left not feeling all that great.

Don't cancel! Why let other people make up your mind for you? Try it at least once and decide for yourself. You might love it. We did!

Besides..there are lousy reviews by someone for just about every restaurant on property. Just read the Worst Dining Experience thread.

We loved Garden Grill during our trip last September. That aside, here's one thing I learned while trying to figure out what restaurants to choose last time. There were multiple reservations I questioned or almost cancelled because of negative reviews. We don't go often and so one bad experience, in my mind, could have broke our whole trip. Garden Grill and Ohana were two of those we thought about cancelling. We loved Garden Grill and REALLY loved Ohana. In fact, I think Ohana was the highlight of our entire trip... and I almost cancelled it, because of someone else's opinion. Get opinions, sure. But remember - they are just opinions, and what your family loves, another family may not enjoy and vise versa. (Trust me, I found 1000 happy reviews about Crystal Palace, and I doubt we ever go back... ever.) Do research and then go and enjoy it :) It's worth a shot once!

GG was the best character interaction we had on our last trip and our 3rd favorite meal food-wise (Out of about 15 meals).

what people are saying the food is terrible? Is there nobody saying the food is good? Read these boards and you could end up thinking that every restaurant at WDW is just horrible.

I think the only question you can get answered without trying it yourself is whether or not the menu appeals to you.

This is exactly what happened to us on our Nov trip last year with Garden Grill.. I booked an adr for it, then cancelled because of all the bad reviews on here. I said to myself well WE want to try it and so we were about to find an adr for the exact time we had originally weeks later! I was so glad we booked it, as it was the highlight of our trip last year and our arrival day dinner.

We have been to Garden Grill many times and always loved it. The kids love the characters and the food was always fresh and plentiful. Our last trip though, something was a little off. Maybe it was our server or like another poster said maybe it was just an off day. We will definitely go back as this has never happened before. Kids LOVE the mac and cheese.

GG was probably my second worst TS experience at WDW. The food was just OK - especially if you're comparing it to Liberty Tree Tavern..mmmmmm. If you're not going for the characters, it really doesn't make sense to go. Why? Look at all those awesome TS places around World Showcase. That's where the good food is.

We've eaten there three times now, and all of those times we had great experiences. We actually love the food, and the character interaction really is great. We have priceless photos of DS2 meeting Mickey for the first time there last Dec. :lovestruc

Only Disney restaurant that my whole family has agreed we'll never go back to! Just all around bad experience for us. But the food was bland, totally forgettable. So many other places we'd rather go!

It can be good to collect feedback to measure expectations, but if you want to try it you should just go! We enjoy Garden Grill and, personally, find it much better tasting than LTT dinner.
