Should we buy 10 Non Expire?

We are coming down 9/21-9/25 on the free dining plan and currently have a 5 day base ticket reserved.

Looking at the setup of the MYW tickets, wouldn't it be much cheaper on a 2nd trip for tickets by buying a 10 day no-expire ticket and saving 5 days for the next trip? Is this OK? Is this smart?

We got nine nights at ASMo and 4 10 plus tickets with non expiry (2 adult 2under 8) and paid $2900 cdn. I thought it was a great deal, added to the 2day hoppers + water park I have left I figure we have enough for 3 trips. I would reccommend the 10 day if it is in your budget, then you'll have days left over for another trip.

In my opinion, for those people who know or suspect that they will be coming back for another vacation at Disney sooner or later...it is the smartest thing you can do/best investment you can make with the (relatively small amount of) extra money required.

I'm definitely planning on doing this for my next trips. Seems like a great way to save on future trips!

We bought the 10 days as well. W figure that's one expense out of the way for the next trip!

I just did the same thing. I have a 4 day/3 night YMP trip to POFQ in September. I crunched the numbers every which way but loose and it made perfect sense. For not much more $$ we got the 10 day non-expiry passes. It works out to about $18/day for our next trip. Now we just need to wait :hourglass for a room only code a good Ding fare and we'll be all set for another 7 day trip! :cool1:

We're doing this (sort of): we bought the one day base ticket to get the free dining, then I am buying 10 day non-expiry hoppers w/ plusses through the Mousesavers newsletter. With that discount, the extra day for the base tickets is only going to cost husband and I $16.25 each, which I figure is fine for the half day on arrival, since we won't need to hop that day! Follow that up with dinner at Cali Grill - we are going to be in Disney heaven! And, we'll still have days left for when we want to come back with the kids, making that trip much more affordable!

Just bought one for DH, but not for the rest of us. DS2 is still free, thank goodness. DD5 and I have APs (and so far got in 10 park entries since February). DH only used 2 park entries this year (using old passes). There will be another 3 or 4 visits for the kids and I in August. DH may join us for 1 of those days or maybe not. (He has a conference and isn't sure how often he'll be able to get away.)

Anyway, I think the kids and I may continue to get APs each year but with DH only joining us half to a quarter of the time, I saw the 10-day non-expiring ticket as a more cost-effective option for him. I wonder how many years it will last him?

We bought the 10 day non-expiring tickets before our May trip and used 6 days this trip and now have 4 more days from this MYW ticket and some old park hoppers to use for our next trip. It is a GREAT deal and such a nice feeling knowing that next trip's tickets are already taken care of.

I will buy 10 day no expire. For my teens, I will get the premiums, they love to hop over to DQ in the evening. I can get $100 off APs thru DVC, but I think the 10 day Premiums are even better (for my family), no need to watch the calendar, we could skip a year, whatever. We also split our trips with Universal, so we only use 4 days a year, 8 if we overlapped trips........ and the 10 day Premiums include 5 outings to water parks, DQ, PI.

We are going to Disney in less than one week. ( DH, DW, DS8, DS8, DS6, DS6, DD6)
I have already purchased and received 5 day base tickets from ticketmania. I plan to purchase an annual pass and also apply for the DDE card. I plan on doing this tommorrow since we will be arriving on the weekend and DDE will be closed. I am using the annual pass to receive the room discount.

My question: Can I upgrade the 6 tickets to 10 day non-expiring when I get to Disney?
I figured the cost for my family comparing the 5 day expire vs. the 10 day non-expiring and there was not much of a difference. People on this thread are stating what a good deal it is to get the 10 day non-expiring tickets. Maybe I was doing something wrong or I have more people in my party. What do you guys think? This will be our second family trip to Disney. We went 2 years ago and plan on returning again possibly in April and if not then within a year or two. Thanks

We go to WDW 2x a year, at least (relatives in Orlando, woohoo!). We are buying the MYW 10 day non-exp. for our Nov. trip, then after those days are used up (probably on trip #3 from now, in Fall 2006), we are buying APs. The reason we aren't buying APs first is that we will use the pluses from the 10 day, which we would not get by just buying APs the first time. So we actually come out ahead this way.

Yes, you can. Guest Relations (or your hotel Lobby Concierge) will be able to do it for you.

If you already bought the 10 day tickets that expire, can you turn them into 10 day NON-expiring once you're in Disney?
TIA

Yes you can. Even if you already started using the tickets, but before the tickets actually expire.

You will have to pay the same price ($100) to upgrade to non-expire even if you've used some of the days.

We have 5 days left on our 10 day no-expire tickets that we got in March. The only problem I foresee is that we may want to do some kind of package to get the dining in a future trip. As it stands now, I think we could each buy a one day one park ticket as part of the package.

I think upgrading AT WDW on your passes also costs you the advance price discount...............

It's a smart thing to do...especially if you know you will go back. I'm sure ticket prices will go up at some point...this way you are saving even more!

Ladyelle Just an FYI
You do need the AP in hand when U call DDE. They will ask for the # on the back of the ticket. I did this when I last went and got there to buy the AP in MK before it closed but had to wait til the next AM to call DDE. DDE then left the DDE letter at Epcot guest relations after 5:pm that night. This meant I did not have for day of arrival or next day until 5 pm.

Hope this helps your planning.

Have a great trip!!!!

We are DEFINATELY getting these tix after comparing the difference between a 3 day pass and a 10. It only makes sense for us because my DD is 8 and by the time we go back to Disney she will be an adult in Disneys eyes but they will exchange her unused days for an adult ticket for no charge! That will save us $$ next time (which means we will be able to save for the next trip that much faster!!) I only wish October would come faster!!!!
