I have a city mini double... just trying to deiced if I should bring it or rent one. I'm worried about it getting damaged on the plane... this will be our first time flying with a double. Last time we flew we had a peg umbrella stroller, and it was not damaged at all.. but i wasn't as worried about it getting damaged because it was not our everyday stroller... we only have one double and I would be very upset if it was damaged. Any advice? If you have used a rental company did you find the strollers were clean? It seem like most have city mini's. Thanks!

Of course it just depends on the particular airline employee(s) who handle your stroller, but we have checked our everyday jogging stroller several times and haven't had any damage yet.

I like the convenience of having the stroller in the airports, especially if there is a tight connection, plus I like using my stroller because I know how to fold it, exactly where everything fits, etc. However, it looks like you would be renting the same type of stroller that you use everyday, so that may not be an issue for you.

I know.... I would like to have our stroller at the airport... i was thinking about just taking our single umbrella. We will be traveling with a 15month old and 3year old. so it really would be nice to have the double! I guess I just need to deiced if i am willing to risk that it wont get damaged!

We were going to bring our double with us but we have to decided to rent. I dont feel like having to close up the stroller and trusting someone else with it even for a few hours. I would hate it if we ended up getting there and it got damaged (so expensive!).
We are just bringing the Ergo and the Beco Gemini and will wear them at the airport (although we are going to let them run around because they wont be able to get up and walk around on the airplane). We are taking the Magical Express to the resort. The stroller rental company just leaves the stroller with the bellhop so that will be the first place we go to when we get there :-)

I have to say, I think we'll rent the next time we go to WDW. We just got back from a trip and I cringed as I watched the baggage handlers throw, literally throw the strollers and wheelchairs that were gate checked from the plane to the ground. I did say something to the people at the desk, knowing that my stroller would soon be put on the plane. We didn't end up with any damage, but I don't think I'll take a chance again. Our next trip will be when our baby is born and I'm not risking breaking our new city mini double! I'm sure this doesn't happen with every airline at every airport, but it did bother me.

Looking at the prices, since you can rent a City Mini for $85 for a week, and a new one costs about $400. I think I'd actually rent! And I'm surprised that I said that! :)

Our plan (we have 3 LOs):

2 that can walk through the airport just fine, one who cannot. I will bring a umbrella stroller and we will rent a double. Mostly because American Airlines will not gate check my double and I need at least something in the airport to contain my 2 y/o.
