Our family is going in Oct. We were going to spend 2 days at MK and 1 day at AK. Do you think we should bring them to MGM? Is there a lot there for them to see? Thanks, Linda

They would probably love Playhouse Disney, The Muppets and the Beauty and the Beast Show. They might like The Little Mermaid too but I have heard some people say younger kids were scared of Ursula. They would enjoy the HISTK playground. We plan to go with our 4 y old in December, I am sure he will find plenty to enjoy.

My DS2 almost 3 (at the time) loved seeing the Palyhouse Disney guys and The Monsters, Inc. guys. We missed the Power Rangers, though! He would have loved that! The Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid shows kept his attention, too!

I definately would bring them.. My two neices are going with my parents the 29th through the first of October and they will be doing the MGM play and Dine for Breakfast.. this was a last minute trip and we had no problems getting ADRs... The girls love the little Einsteins and JOJO.. and I have heard very good things on this board about the character interaction during this breakfast... :cool1:

There may be a bit less at MGM for them to enjoy, but I'd still say Yes. I think you'd still get a full day of family fun out of it. :thumbsup2

Last year DD1 and DD2 loved the playhouse Disney show. We sat WAY too close to the stage for the Little Mermaid and the girls still talk about how scary Ursula was. I think it would have been okay further back in the theater.

We are going again in December and we're having lunch with the Little Einsteins and Jojo.

I think it's worth going. We're only planning a half day though.

Have fun!

If you have limited time at the parks, skip MGM. Our family trips the kids were 3 and 5 (Jan, 2006) and 2 and 4 (April, 2005.) Both trips the kids were bored with most of the shows. They liked Playhouse Disney ok, but we could have skipped it. Princess fanatic DD didn't care much about Little Mermaid.
DS (younger) was bored with everything except the Honey, I Shrunk playground.

If you have plenty of park time MGM is GREAT for characters. We also really enjoyed the afternoon parade. If your kids are good about sitting through shows, they'll probably enjoy MGM. If not, save it for when they're older.

Also, both of my kids absolutely loved Epcot.

We are going to MGM after the Princess Breakfast at Epcot the day we leave. I figure we get there around 10:30 or so and leave around 1. My nieces are 10 and 3 and the older one said nothing at MGM interests her (she doesnt do thrill rides...she says she is a chicken) but she is willing to go so her sister can meet Chicken Little and Abby, her all time idols. What a great kid!

As the previous posters have said, there are somethings at MGM your children may really enjoy. My little one has always enjoyed a few of the shows there, especially Little Mermaid and the Muppets 3D.

You may want to consider a split day with MGM & Epcot! There's plenty of things for the kids at Epcot! My little girl loves stopping at the Kidcot stations to make her mask!!

Have a great trip!!!

I just went w/my 2 yr old in July, and he loved the LIGHTS, MOTORS,ACTION show. Like OP stated, it is a great park for characters too! He got to see Lightning McQueen and Mater, so he was thrilled. Have fun!

MGM is my DD (3)'s favorite. We last went in 2/06 and she is stll talking about the "belle show" and the "ariel show". We go back in 2 days and won't miss it.

we're taking our 2 year old twins (along with their 4 year old brother) in october. we're really looking forward to the playhouse disney show, and the play and dine breakfast. I think they will like a few other things, but we plan it as kind of an easy day overall.

Do you have park hoppers? If so, I would jump into MGM for at least 1/2 day. The girls might really enjoy Playhouse Disney and Beauty and the Beast. The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground is fun if the adults in the group have enough endurance to keep up with the little ones! But if you do not have park hoppers, I might consider skipping MGM. For our DSs, it wouldn't be enough to keep them happy throughout the whole day. They both enjoy MK and AK a lot more. They also love EP. In fact, EP and AK are DS 6's favorite parks.

Good luck planning! :daisy:

When my twin boys were 3 we took them to MGM. They liked the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Muppets, Movie Ride, Backlot Tour, Indiana Jones. They really enjoyed the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. If you were going to skip a park, I would skip AK. The only things they liked there was the Dino Dig Playground and the Safari.

Hi! We just got back from WDW yesterday. Wednesday we took our 4 year old twins and almost 3-year-old to MGM. They liked it. There wasn't as much for them to do there as at MK, but we still had fun.
They LOVED they Disney Playhouse show.
Also LOVED the Play N Dine character meal at Hollywood and Vine. Out of the 4 character meals we did, this one was their favorite. Lots of character interaction. I would highly recommend it.
I tried taking the twins to the Muppets 3-D movie, but it scared them so we left about 5 minutes into it. Didn't even attempt it with our 2 year old since MIckey's Philharmagic scared him.
They didnt' want to see The Little Mermaid show since they're scared of Ursula.
I took just one of my twins to The Beauty and the Beast show (the other two kids were tired and stayed at the resort with Daddy), and she loved it. It was a really neat show.
They also really liked the character interactions: we met Lightning McQueen, Mickey, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Green Army guy, Jasmine, Alladin, Jafar.

I think it is a perfect half day park, but if you have limited time you may want to skip it. Last time we went our DD2 and DD3 loved Little Mermaid show, Muppet 3D, and Playhouse Disney. DD3 loved Beauty and the Beast, but DD2 was too tired by the time we got there and I had to leave so she could nap in the stroller. I think the MGM parade was their favorite of all of them, though, so you may want to stay for that.

Have fun!

My 3 1/2 year-old boys didn't even like The Playhouse Disney show! We went in June before they had offered the Little Einstein Breakfast, but we saw 2 of those characters and JoJo and Goliath. The "Honey" playground is too hot and chaotic. We did AK-safari,Lion King show,Donald's breakfastosaurus,Triceratops Spin. We skipped Epcot, but in August we went to Disneyland and rode Soarin over California. I think the height requirement is 40 inches(my boys are tall). It was great;I didn't think they would like it. Boy, I was wrong! We won't be skipping Epcot anymore! This was my boys' 3rd trip to WDW,but we would have been content to do MK every single day! They were happiest there.
