Just got back from our travel agent to book our first cruise ever. I have goosebumps from all the excitment. I have our DCL cruise on a 48 hour hold so have not committed to anything as of yet. I would like your expert opinions first.

In our discussion with the agent we decide to go with cat 7. I understand that we have cabin #7128. It is for the 3-day Wonder leaving Sept 11, 2003. Hopefully it will be a beautiful day. Anyway, does $1481 sound about right? I have no clue as the pricing of these things and if this was a good price or not.

Help! I can't think with all these goosebumps!

I am assuming you have 3 sailing or 2? Did you get airfare, ground transfers, insurance? This all makes a difference.

oooops Sorry.

That is with all fees and taxes, insurance, and misc. fees. It does not include any ground transfers (we will be driving to FL so will be parking at the Port). Also no airfare. I hope i am reading this right. I went to the Disney Criuse Line (official web site) and they quoted me $1579.00 for basically the same thing. The only thing I was not sure on was the location of the cabin. So I am thinking that this may be a good price.

I did notice that there was a first time cruiser discount which I am not sure that the agent included. I am not sure is that if that is only thru DU or if anyone can get that.

Thanks for any input.

I don't mean to upset your plans....but, we went on a 3 night Disney cruise and found it just wasn't enough time on the ship. Have you considered a 4 night? Dreams Unlimited would be able to quote you a price as well. At least it would give you something to compare it with.
Happy Cruising!

Have not consider one as of yet. We have never cruised before and decided that this would be a great way to get our toes wet. If this works out then maybe we will book a 7 day cruise. we are also booking a 5 or 6 nite stay on property to run right after our cruise. We are looking to stay somewhere on the boardwalk. But maybe I will call the agent tomorrow and price out 4 day cruise as well.

Having made the same choice of a three day cruise for my first attempt, I honesty have to say, that I was very sad on our final morning.

Three days is way too short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the small increase to a four day cruise go for it. It will be much better. Three days seems good for whetting the cruise bug between longer cruises. But I really wish we had booked the four day. It might have been perfect for our first cruise.

Chose one with a sea day and you will get to experience all the different elements of a cruise. A port, a sea day and castaway cay!!!! What more can you need.

Ps. Doing the world afterwards also not a great idea, we felt like it was such a chore to go through the parks and stand in lines after being on the ship. Best best do the world then the ship, you will be in heaven.

I agree that 4 days is the way to go. Our first was a 3 day and by the time you are really feeling comfortable and knowing your way around it is time to get off. That extra day can make all the difference. Especially if that extra day is a sea day. I love sea days!

I really love the 7 day cruises - where you can really relax. For a first one and with a park stay a 3 or 4 day would be best. If you can swing a 4 day do it!

I cant help you on the price(our last cruise was during peak season, in cat 10), but I have done 2, 3 day Disney Cruises and l think you will be fine with that. Sure 4 or 7 days would be better, but if thats all you can do right now, then its a great way to see what cruising is all about. On our first Disney cruise I did feel like we didnt get to do much, but we had kids with us and didnt do any of the adult stuff at all. Then on our second cruise we went alone, I was a lot more informed, knew just what I wanted to do, and did it all!
3 days on the ship is better than 3 days at home! :D
Good luck!

It can't hurt to check with them. I think that they are offereing rebates. I don't know if ther are any for a 3 day. I did check another website that books group space on the DCL and they had a Cat. 7 for 2 people all taxes included for $1328.00. So I think that a better rate can be had. That is about $163.00 less. You can use that for spending money.;)

I just got my reply with DU and their price is the same as the one we got from our local agent. I think with this trip it would be best to stick with them. The local agent with be getting all our paperwork from DCL then forwarding them to us. Seeing that we will not be home to get our paperwork this will be a great service to us. They will forward to us in FL during our trip.

So I returned to the travel agent this morning and try to get on the 4 day cruise the same week(different days) and the same cat. 7. There were only 4 cabins left at cat 7 and they were all on deck 5. Seeing that that is the deck with all the neat looking kids areas we decided to stick with the 3 day because of the location of the cabin. Location, Location, Location. I would prefer to be closer to the adults areas than the kids. Call my silly.

I am really excited to go, Seven Seas and Capt'n Mickey here I come!!!!!

Pixie dust for all that replied to my post. It helped to get different opinions.

Now I can add DCL Wonder Sept 2003 under my name . Y
es!

Go to allseastravel.com They have all the prices listed on the website. We booked a 7-day cruise with them, and they were $700 less than the best price we got.

I agree with everyone else - 3 days is TOO SHORT. Our first Disney cruise was 4 -days (longest cruise they offered at the time) over the Millenium, and we barely felt like we knew our way around the ship when it was time to off!

Deck 5 is fine...don't let the kids club sway your decision about staying on that deck or not....

Another vote for the 7 day!!!
