Should we blame Shanghai for the Condiment Downgrade?

Am I the only one who is too cheap to buy name brand condiments, unless they are on sale? I can't really blame Disney for something I do myself.

I do blame those who, for example, bring bread from home but go to the food court for free peanut butter and jelly. I still remember that post! They couldn't understand why it would be a problem to just go to the food court and grab what they wanted. After all, if it is out in the food court it must be free for everyone, right?:sad2:

I generally stay off of those posts, but I can't help but think that the people who use the condiment and toppings stations as their own personal kitchen are responsible in part for Disney reactions. Disney never seems to be confrontational in regards to stopping guests from using things that they have no paid for. They just remove them.
I do not hve any issues with non name brand condiments, I shop at Aldi.

All ketchup tastes the same to me. Except Whataburger ketchup. It's the best.

The only bad ketchup I have ever had was on Mackinac Island. And I can't remember what off brand name it was, but it was not good.:crazy2: But that is the only time I can ever remember thinking, This Ketchup Tastes Awful.

I make my own artisan ketchup at home* and am appalled, really horrified, that Disney does not do the same**, in bulk, to be served with the chicken nuggets that must be served at all dining establishments.

On the subject of gleeping freebies, I was at Madara Spa yesterday and a lady in the locker room was grabbing handfuls of feminine hygiene products and stuffing them in he backpack

I don't care about the ketchup, but I was bummed when they took out the honey mustard dispensers. I believe the packets were still Heinz a few weeks ago though.

as pp have said blame (put in the blank) for everything LOL !!! Posters who don't like the dining plan blame it for everything. Other posters for years have found some convenient current issue blame it ( now it's Shanghai) What's going to be next for the blame cycle? Star wars land costs? Avatar costs?
Look at food costs going up all over. And if your are hooked on a special condiment what do you do when you go to a fast food place and they don't have what you like? Most dining go with the cheapest they can get in their area (used to be restaurant manager so I know about this). Cost cutting is everywhere

This thread is like a funny/not funny parody of our presidential election. Let's build a wall around the China pavilion to protest Shanghai Disney. Let's make France pay for it, to protest Paris Disney. I'm sure they are to blame for something.

But this is true about Whataburger. And seriously they have the best chicken fajita tacos. I demand the Mexico pavilion have them exactly the same, and if they don't I blame the dammed free dining plan, which I myself utilize on every trip to Disney, but still! I'm obviously not the problem, it is the other people on free dining plan that are the problem. :rockband: :rotfl2:

For DS21 ketchup is a dietary staple so this will be distressing news.

holy crap this made me lol.

It will bother us. We don't like cheap condiments. As far as people using a location's condiments without making a purchase, that is stealing to me, plain and simple. Rather than supplying cheap stuff, I would rather they dole out the good stuff from behind the counter when you place your order.

IT is not just using condiments while they are in the restaurant on their own food. Folks will bring them back to the room and use them to make their tuna, etc.

They still have ketchup, it is just a different brand... and by most reports, it is a decent brand too!

I'm confused and maybe I am missing something. Are you meaning because of how expensive Shanghai is they are cutting back? Haha i am so out of the loop with the Shanghai business.
