should we avoid Mk New Years Day?

We are arriving New Years eve for 4 nights before a Disney Cruise. How bad are the crowds at MK durning that time. I
know my DD age 6 will want to do MK once or maybe twice.
We are leaving Sunday AM so which day would be best ,Thursday
(New Years Day) or Friday or Saturday?

What order do you think we should do to not be overcome by
crowds, we want to do Epcot and MK for sure, the other day is
open, this is our third trip so we have visited all the parks befor.

I'd like to know this too... I've heard a lot about how bad the parks are NYE but I wonder how New Years day and the few days after will be. We'll be in WDW from Jan 1st-6th.

The thing with New Years Eve is that the parks might close out really early. When my family went we got up really really early to make sure that we were in MK for the whole day. After that you get stamped allowing you to leave during the day and come back at nite. Of course it is going to be kinda crowded but I didn't think it was anything too bad especially for that time of year.

I know that you need to have your hand stamped, but it was my understanding that once you leave the park, if it is full you cannot get back in?


Wintermom The better days will be Friday or Saturday. People will start to head back home after the first. We did MK on NY day when DD was 3. We got to the park about 30 minutes after opening, and while it was quite I was surprised how many people we up and ready to go on NY day. If you are on site get up early on the 1st day use EE and you should haver a pretty quite morning. We will be there thru the 2nd and are planning on a late afternoon and late night at MK, park is open till midnight.

We had our hopper passes but if it is a one day pass I think you can still do it. Because they might only be letting a certain number in the parks on NYE, if you decide to leave the park during the day, make sure you get your hand stamped so that when you come back to that park later on, you will be allowed to. Once you are counted for as an entry, you are in and counted.

Mk always packs out on holidays! Depends on if you like..lots of skin to skin contact..lol...Good Luck!

Try MK the morning after NYE. We find the parks to be pretty empty until later in the day!
